THE eyes of the mountain biking world will be fixed firmly on Scotland this weekend as the fastest riders on the planet battle it out in the shadow
of Ben Nevis, writes SEB RAMSAY.
More than 400 riders from 35 countries will descend on Fort William for the thrills and spills of the downhill, 4X and cross-country events at the
first round of the UCI World Cup.
And none of these competitors stands a better chance of riding away with the silverware than Britain's downhill number one Steve Peat.
The Cheadle-based rider battled a catalogue of injuries last year after being crowned World No. 1 in 2002.
