Sheffield Eagles have signed second row forward Jaymes Chapman from National One Halifax.
Chapman, 21, made eight appearances for Halifax last season, scoring four tries.
National Two club Sheffield see Chapman as a replacement for Andy Raleigh who has joined Hull KR.
Coach Mark Aston said: "Jaymes is a player with experience at the top level, he's young and has a massive amount of potential.
"He's made mistakes in the last 12 months and lost his way a bit but that's the type of player we have tended to take at Sheffield Eagles."
