Wigan's hopes of reaching a fourth Super League Grand Final in five years have suffered a setback with the loss of hooker Terry Newton with a
dislocated thumb.
Newton sustained the injury on his return from a two-match suspension during Wigans 26-22 win at London Broncos and has been told he faces a lay-off
of between four and six weeks.
Hospital X-rays dispelled fears of a break but he has had the thumb encased in plaster and has only an outside chance of being fit if the Warriors
make Old Trafford on October 16.
