Ellery Hanley has left Castleford after just seven weeks as the club's coaching consultant.
Former St Helens boss Hanley was brought in by the Super League's bottom club to work alongside new head coach Gary Mercer following the sacking of
Graham Steadman.
But Hanley's appointment has failed to produce results with the club winning just one game since his arrival and they remain four points adrift at the
foot of the table.
Hanley had been contracted until the end of the season but a Tigers statement on Tuesday evening confirmed that 43-year-old would be leaving
immediately.
