Wallaby World Cup winner Matt Burke on Thursday revealed it was Newcastle's ambition that prompted him to sign for the Powergen Cup holders.
Burke became the latest catch of the Falcons' summer recruitment drive after agreeing a two-year contract, snubbing a similar offer from Zurich
Premiership newcomers Worcester in the process.
The versatile 31-year-old back will join fellow internationals Colin Charvis, Radike Samo, Semo Sititi, Andy Long and Luke Gross among the new faces
at Kingston Park over the summer.
His arrival is evidence of rugby director Rob Andrew's determination to build a squad capable of challenging for Premiership honours - and Burke is
relishing the chance to play for the attack-minded Falcons
