A body was found inside United Nations headquarters on Monday, a U.N. spokesman said. U.N. security and the New York police department are investigating the matter.

www.nynewsday.com...

Wow, I thought the security at that place was extremely high. Mustve been a assasination from another building, someone with a silencer or something. Strange.

Wonder who it could be?

Don't believe what is say, I highly doubt this is an isolated incident. Someone was SHOT inside of the UN HEADQUARTERS, something is going down.

it does sound like somone knew too much, with no-one seeing or hearing anything. you'd think atleast one person wouldve seen or heard something if it was "only" a suicide.

anyway Condolences to his family.

They make it sound like he was cleaning his ear with his gun and it went off....

It would seem that the wound is not made by a hollow point bullet which he was using...

At approximately 11:45am, a room adjacent to the cavernous General Assembly, used for occasional meetings and parties was entered. The room was darkened with curtains drawn. When the room's lights were turned on, the dead officer's body was discovered in a corner at the far end of the room.

Surprisingly, the dead officer had some company.

Only a few feet away, was another U.N. security officer who had decided to take a brief nap, apparently not knowing the officer seated nearby was dead.

Officers on the scene were puzzled by what they saw next... The dead officer seemed to have committed suicide. Blood was spotted in the officer's right ear, leading investigators to believe the fatal shot was to his head.

However, those on the scene say the officer's head was in a raised, not slouched position, as one might expect in a suicide.

The officer's gun was also found wedged between his legs.

Nobody heard any shots fired.

Currently, U.N. security officers carry 9mm Glock handguns.

The Glocks do not carry safety locks. In fact, NewsMax is told the only device preventing an accidental discharge of the handgun is the holster it is carried in.

"If that gun is taken out of the holster, watch out" one U.N. security veteran explained. He added that he and several other officers "unofficially" break U.N. rules and do not carry their guns loaded.

So, someone waxed the guard. Why? Probably to steal someone or something, or maybe they're not telling us the whole story. Maybe a few more bodies have turned up, but they're keeping it hush hush.

At the risk of being greusome here....
When someone commits suicide via handgun shot to the head, generally speaking the gun is held in one of two positions
1) From the side, pressed against the temple
2) From the bottom -- under the chin or in the mouth
Neither of these scenes would account for the head being in an "upright" position if the person was sitting down. The shock of the gun firing would "whiplash" the head back and then forwards in the event of a bottom-shot, and a side-shot would jolt the head sideways and then most likely in a natural forward "resting" position.

The relaxation of the body's muscles at death make it unlikely that the gun would be found "wedged" between his legs. Near the body, or on the body...yes. Wedged...unlikely.

And, of course, nobody heard anything.

If these details are accurate, the evidence would point to foul play rather than suicide.

I don't know what to think yet.
There's the NewsMax account above.
Mainstream media can't seem to agree on anything regarding this death.
One story indicates he had been taking antidepressants and was going through marital problems. (and this article, taken from the NY Post, is the only one out there reporting the psych treatment angle.) This article also gives details about him being found "sprawled near a chair with his 9mm Glock next to his body."
Now, AP stories quote the UN security chief (aka this guy's boss) as saying "...there were no indications of psychological problems."

Three completely different stories, with the last one the most widely reported right now.
Yeah, this smells kinda fishy.

Actually for the first time I realised that you have to read for what is not explicitly there...

1) He is not accused of suiciding .... quite the opposite

2) No one noticed that he was dead, therefore it wasn't a hollow point bullet that killed him, as the article points out it makes a big mess....

It seems that the writer of the article tries to send amessage about what he/she thought without outlining it in so mnay words....

I summarised the info in my blog stuffucanuse.com...
