Australian batsman Brad Hodge is the new captain of Leicestershire.
He replaces former England all-rounder Phil DeFreitas, who stepped down on Monday after 20 months in the role and Darren Maddy is the new
vice-captain.
DeFreitas said: "We have reached the halfway point in the season and I believe this is the right time to hand the captaincy over to someone else.
"I would like to wish my successor all the very best. He can be sure of my help and support."
Leicestershire director of cricket James Whitaker said: "We are delighted that Brad has agreed to take on the captaincy.
