Cricket: Glenn McGrath heading for Middlesex

Middlesex have announced that Glenn McGrath will join the county as cover for Lance Klusener.

The Australian seam bowler will move to Lord's to take over from Klusener while the South African allrounder is away touring Sri Lanka with his country.

McGrath will join the Division One side on July 16 and will play four Frizzell County Championship matches as well as five one-day games.

The New South Wales paceman is no stranger to the English scene after enjoying a season with Worcestershire in 2000.

"We are delighted to have captured a world class bowler in Glenn, especially for such a vital period of the season," stated Middlesex's coach John Emburey.
