Britain's worst senior football club hope to sign former England international Paul Gascoigne.
East Stirlingshire have made the bold move to sign the former England international, who left League Two side Boston United earlier this month.
Shire boss Dennis Newall, who hopes the 37-year-old will attend Saturday's match with Peterhead, told the Daily Record: "When the chance for Gazza
arose we had to go for it.
"His presence would be an education for our young players."
The club has a wage cap policy in place that sees players paid just £10 but a sponsorship deal with pools company Littlewoods would fund this
deal.
Shire are bottom of the Bell's Third Division and are without a win all season.
Last season they managed just two victories - both at home to the same club, Elgin City.
