Fantasy: NFL Fantasy Football !!!!

Fantasy Football is coming SOON...I have established some of the basic code. I plan to implement it similar to how it the chat function is at ATS. When you click on the Fantasy Football Button, you bring brought to a window displaying you team and current stats.

Players and Basic scoring system:

Running Back (RB)

Touch Downs
Rushing Yards
Receiving Yards
Fumbles
Extra Point

Quarter Back (QB)

Passing Yards
Rushing Yards
Fumbles
Sacked
Interceptions
Touch Downs

Wide Receiver (WR)

Touch Downs
REcieving yards
Fumble
Extra Point

Kicker (K)

Extra Point
Field Goal

Defensive Team (DT)

Sack
Interception
Touchdown
Points Allowed
Yards Allowed

Tight End (TE)

Rushing Yards
Receiving Yards
Touch downs
Fumble
Extra Point

Point System (BASIC)
Though Basic for now, Please feel free to ever post any comments on the scoring system.

Touch Down = 6 points
Passing Yards = 1 point every 25 yards
Rushing Yards = 1 point every 10 yards
Receiving Yards = 1 point every 10 yards
2 point conversion = 2 points
Interception = +/- 2 points
Fumble = +/- 2 points
Field Goal = 3 points for 7 -49 yards and anything above 50 yards is 5 points
Extra point = 1 point

The scoring section of the code has been written and is currently being tidied up for it to plop the data into a Mysql database. It really easy at this point to adjust the scoring method, so if you want to see ANY CHANGES, please speak now.

I am trying to write a little script for the draft. I would like to see it randomly go through the list of participants, and give that person say, 30 minutes to choose an player. If that player fails to choose an player in that allotted time, then they have given up that round.

The window Where you see your Team will include such options as:

Trade
View The Free Agent Pool
Make an Offer
Drop Player
Gamble - If a money system is in place
Tweak starting line up

That is it for now...Back to writing the code.

Twisted seems really good to me,count me in,can you let me know how many players you have and the positions..
I'm not that great on American Football so i had better start looking up some decent players now I'll give anything a try once..

LOL, as of a couple of weeks ago, I never even knew how Fantasy Football is played. I am sure we can agree on some Numbers, I belive its

2 Qb
2 RB
1 WR
1 TE
1 K
DE- is a whole defensive team of choice.

Thats off the top of my head.

personally i would like to have it as:
2 QB
2 Rb
2 WR
1 TE
1 K
2- D-lineamn
2 LB
2 DB

What does everybody else think?

The way I have always done it is 1 QB, 2 RB's , 3 WR's, 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 defense/special teams. You can do it any way you want really, we did try doing individual defensive players one year like Ben suggested, it was tough to get the individual defensive stats, but nowadays with the internet, its much easier.

I'll leave it totally up to you guy's

Ben ive been studying for weeks,LoL i have 2 teams picked and reserves...!!

We shall see how the draft goes then shall we....may the best team win.

Well i dont think that a another person can have the same player similar to the way fantasy baseball is run but a little different. Almost finish working on the program to run it.

hmmm in the Fantasy Soccer you can have the same players as their is so many to choose from something like over 300 players....

THere are 20 open slots for teams to play in and we are going to have to establish a draft date......and who is going to play.

Well we have almost ordered the league manager i am right now tryign to figure out how it works and how other players join this league if anybody can help out that would be great.

i have been doing some tests with it all mornign and i do believe that oyu have to give me your email address so that i can invite you to join the league.
