Am I a Redneck for watching NASCAR? or because I was born in the hills of Boone, North Carolina? NASCAR used to be one of my top sports... not so much since Earnhardt died, but i still watch it every so often. And they do have a job.... they're getting paid millions to drive for 2 1/2 hours around a track.

I am a Nascar fan but not a redneck. I have a job, a well paying one at that. Nascar is the most watcher friendly sport out there, for the simple fact that everyone can drive a car, but not everyone can run the 40 in less than 5 seconds, not everyone can hit a 3 with 2 seconds on the clock, and most people can't hit a baseball thrown at 98 MPH. but everyone can drive (my neighbor lady, and sister in-law excluded) so you see nascar is something that everyone who drives a car can relate too, everyone i know has gone out on the highway just to see how fast this pile of junk can really do. So before you start calling nascar fans rednecks realize that not all the fans live in trailers on the edge of a swamp somewhere down south.

I will admit this, I am a bonified redneck through and through. But I don't live in a trailer next to a swamp, I live in a house next to the river thank you very much!

i used to get into nascar a bunch, and kind of grew out of it...just didn't do it for me anymore. i have a lot of respect for the builders...winding a cam-in-block v8 from 7200-9000 rpm all day long takes phenomenal building, that needs to be recognized...and since i'm not from south of the dixie line, you can refer to me as hillbilly, my good man!

nascar would be better if they ditched watkins glen, used the whole track at infineon, and added another half dozen road courses, IMO...
