I own a book called "The Prophecies of Nostradamus"
(pubished in 1996) there is a chapter in it that is
called "Warplanes over the Americas" and it talks about
how there has only been one attack on the American
mainland(US). It says that there will be an attack from the air between 1996-2004. It also has this quote

"the heaven will broil at 45 degrees,
Fire approaches the great new city,
An enormous, widespread flame leaps high
When they want proof of the Normans" century VI Quatrain 97

The first line looks to be a geographical reference(New York an washington are between 40-50 degrees)
On the secondline the great New city could be new york
On the third line flame leaps high could be the flames coming from one of the towers
The last line could mean that when we want proof of the power of terrorism.

Please let me know how you interperate this Quatrain.

I saw an old documentary on this one time. It was narrated by that guy... what was his name?

No offense but i honestly dont believe in that. So many people have prophesised that the end of the world would come at so and so year, and many of those years have passed, and as far as i know the world hasn't ended yet.

Its amazingly close to being accurate. I am skeptical of it, but there will never be a way to prove that he was entirely correct.

I think there is a major interpretation problem when it is translated to English. I am also pretty sure, that the quatraints in the book you are talking about, kind of add's its own interpretations to what the quatraints mean.

I'd be careful of giving any creedence to the quatrains of Nostradamus. If you looked carefully enough at any of them, they'd probally predict me posting this message (sarcasm).

Although it is kinda intresting...

I have found another interesting quote:

"the year of the great seventh number revolved
It will appear at the time of the games of the Hecatomb,
Not distantfrom the great Millennium,
When the dead will leave their graves."

man thats freaky, also where are the games in 2008?

? I only questioned the translations, not the authenticity. I understand what they are. ?

On a note they dont necessarily have to be rhyming. Just a stanza of 4 lines.

Aye, it's Beijing.

I don't know of that quatrain is really talking about 9/11. New York City isn't a "new city", albeit it has New in the name, but it was one of the first cities. Other then that, I guess you can interpret it into 9/11, but either way it doesn't seem quite on track.

Interesting.

In a book published in 1999 or 2000, called Strange but True, by Thomas Slemen, it mentions Nostradamus predicting 3 antichrists, with the 3rd and last being "a strong follower of Muhameddan law" (the book mentioned it could be Saddam, but I think thats no longer an option) who would resort to using "a horror cloud" (Chem weapons?), and something about holding out for 27 years.

Nostradamus became popular because some of his predictions turned out to be real, but people always forgot to mention that he also predicted tons of stuff that never happenned.

But I'm not here to discredit the guy, I think he was one brilliant mind, and I read recently that some people think he might have had link with the ancient Egyptian Rosicrucian society. So if this is true, and if what I read about his innitiations is too, much respect for this guy..

The page here refers to the twin brothers. And more detailed information, which I have seen before to be false. The quatrain in question is so vague that it could be just about anything. And I believe the original quatrain is true. But which event is it refering to? No idea.

Anyone know of any links where i can find the writings of Nostadamus? I could not find anything that looked accurate.

Nostradamus DIDN'T predict 9/11. In the daily mirror, after 9/11, they pointed out that the theories saying nostradamus predicted 9/11 were false and it was just a generated internet story
