Basketball: Payton traded to the celtics

payton & fox & a 2005 pick go to the celtics for chris mihm, marcus banks, chucky atkins, and a 2005 2nd round pick (according to espnews).

I kinda like Atkins as a Derek Fisher replacement, no clue about the other guys though.

doesnt the celtics get a better deal out of this trade?

Well this does add some more young size and a decent guard replacement for Fisher for the Lakers...

While the Celtics get an injured Rick Fox and an aging Gary Payton, who I think will have an increase in his numbers from last season with a different offense...

I see this as a decent trade. Boston would get the better of it if, as I said, Payton's number bump up and Fox recovers well.

I imagine that Payton should be upset, he just signed with te Lakers, didn't he? They had at least half a chance of making the finals, but it seems very unlikely that will happen with Boston.
