I figured, given Mitch Kupchack opened his big mouth and called him expendable, this would happen..

So what now? Does Shaq move back East and the balance of power shifts from the Western Conference again? Or does it balance out?

Shaq has 1 year and an option on his remaining contract...30 something million a year, and he wants more. But he is the only dominant center in the league. Who can the Lakers get for him?

Now the Summer is starting to get reallllly interesting
....#, the whole league is changing, just because the Lakers LOST!

Oh and I'm not really happy about this, given Shaq has been my only favorite player since I was partly an Orlando fan growing up....but I have to be an optimist.

Does this change the Lakers style of play? I mean, if Kobe stays as well as Gary Payton, this team could potentially suit Gary's style of play and become a running team....

Who wants to leave a place where he is on a team that made the NBA finals and is a lways a really good contender, if you are already making that kind of cash?

He should stick with LA, or he will end up with some lame team like Toronto

He was told they might trade him, and hi spoor little ego got bruised. If him and Kobe4 could be men about thier jobs, which they get paid very well to do, there would be no reason they wouldn't have won the psat 5 cahmpionships, they do have the skills. But, they continue to bicker and snarl like little children. I hope they never make it to the conference finals again!

I really doubt that anybody else will fork over all of that cash for Shaq. You could get a few quality players for all of that money, and a few quality players who act like a team will win way more than a couple big names. I doubt that he will leave LA and still have a big contract

i hope no one wants him.....he will definately ask for outrageous sums of money and/or a crazy amount of good players in return. La would be smart to move shaq tho and get a few good team players in return.

The Lakers lost...Boo Hoo, what shall we do? With no Phil and Kobe out in July Shaq has to move on. Sad to say $28 mil is tough but some fool will pay. A team that is desparate for the quick fix. The problem is that talented as he is, Shaq is old and like the Bulls of old. When the team of Pippin, Rodman, and Jordon broke up the remaining Bulls had a heck of a time Bulls become compitive The Lakers fell victum to their arrogance and false pride. Like the Bulls they will recover but it is doubtful their glory won't return any time soon. As for King Phil he will retire for a year or so and chase Red Aurabach's record and break it. Until then let us rejoice in the Piston's win the old fashioned way....with vim and vigger. We all need to move on when it's our time.

That's certainly one thing that the Lakers, and thier fans, have enough of.

Sure they could, if they paid enough. But, I bet he's gonna end up in Dallas with T-Mac..

I heard that too. Dallas would probably have to give a lot back.

Probably everybody but Dirk.

Maybe Steve Nash to the Lakers.

I have a feeling a team of dirk, shaq, and T-mac would be almost unstoppable, even if the rest of the players werent that good.

TMac was quoted as trying to get to Dallas with Shaq. Who knows what gonna happen. 2 players dont make a team, Dallas will have to give up too much for both.

Actually, now after thinking about it if I'm the Lakers I probably won't make that trade unless they get Dirk back and even then the Lakers would have no real inside presence. So Shaq probably won't go to Dallas.

Yeah, but they could always go somewhere else, like Ostertag...Then Greg and Shaq could still fight each other
