American Football: Star Linebacker passes away

Dale Meinert, who was a star linebacker for the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1960s, died earlier this week after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was 70.

Meinert was drafted by the Baltimore Colts in 1955 and opted to play in Canada for three years. He then joined the Chicago Cardinals organization in 1958 as an offensive guard.
