University of Wisconsin sophomore defenseman Ryan Suter agreed to terms of a three-year contract with the Nashville Predators on Wednesday.
Suter, the seventh overall pick in the 2003 draft, agreed to terms of a deal worth about $3 million. He will forego his remaining three years of
eligibility.
"I'm pretty honored and look forward to the next step," the 19-year-old nephew of former NHL player Gary Suter said.
Predators spokesman Ken Anderson said he expects Suter to sign the deal Thursday. He declined further comment.
Suter had three goals and 16 assists in 39 games with Wisconsin, and was a third-team all-Western Collegiate Hockey Association selection.
