ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) - The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim retained their muscle Friday, re-signing rugged left wing Garrett Burnett to a one-year
contract.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but the deal includes a club option for 2005-06.
Burnett made his NHL debut with the Ducks last season after being signed as a free agent in July 2003. The 28-year-old tough guy appeared in 39 games,
collecting one goal, two assists and a club-leading 184 penalty minutes.
A native of British Columbia, the 6-3, 230-pound Burnett scored a career-high six goals with Hartford of the AHL in 2002-03. He has played in five
different professional leagues, recording 22 goals, 25 assists and 2,528 penalty minutes in 389 games.
