Yeah,it is a bit ironic isn't it.
The realy bad thing is,I really don't like the Devils.I just like the Ducks less.It is very rare for me to root for a team from NY.

Well techinacally Nyeff the Devils arnt from NY they are from Jersey. lol

It was a very good game last night, I enjoyed watching it up to the Devils lossing in overtime. Geez, i can't believe that the Ducks still haven't lost in overtime yet, that is something amazing. Well both teams were able to hold onto their home-ice advantage so it should be interesting to see how the rest of the series goes.

New Jersey,New York, its all the same to us west coast people.lol

Stupid Ducks!Oh well it is turning out to be a great series. Its all even, and both teams play the same way.Glad I'm not a coach in this series. They have gotta be pulling there hair out.
If your the Devils all the practice and hard work goes right out the window with Gigure in the net.And trying to coach against the Devils system has got to madding.

I am very happy that this series is so close now...I was afraid that NJ was gonna take it away

What a game tonight!

Who would have expected a 6-3 game with Broder and Giguere in net? Very entertaining though. The Ducks backs are against the wall as they fly all the way back to Cali for game 6. Go Ducks, I'd love to see a 7th game for the Stanley Cup, no matter who wins.

I didn't really see this game on tv, i heard about it and saw tons of highlights from the game, so far in this series the team with the home-ice advantage has won every game, with the pace that it is going at the Ducks should win tonight. I am hoping that the Devils can pull of a win tonight so that they seal the cup. HEHEHE. GO DEVILS!!!!!

TRD, the game is on C5 at the moment in the UK.

After Game 5 I thought it was all over, but Ducks are up 2-0 at the moment!!

What a game! Did you see Scott Stevens hit on Kariya? Ouch, reminded me of Stevens hit on Lindros in the 2000 Conference Final Game 7 vs the Flyers.

There has been alot of goals scored the last two games considering the goalies, but it has been very entertaining to watch!

Game 7 for the Stanley Cup? What more could you ask for?

The home team has won every game so far this series. The only time that the home team won the first six games in the Cup finals was in 1971 and the away team won game 7 to win the Cup.

You can throw out all the stats though, this is going to be a great game, I cant wait. Go Ducks! Quack ! Quack! :tum:

Congrats to the Devils for winning their 3rd Stanley Cup. They deserved it, they played well and were 12-1 at home in the playoffs, thats taking care of home ice.

What do you think of Giguere winning the ConnSmythe as MVP of the playoffs? Last time a player from the losing team won the ConnSmythe was the Flyers Ron Hextall in '87.

I thought Giguere deserved it because he got the Ducks to game 7 of the Cup Finals, but Brodeur had threee shutouts in the Cup series including one in Game 7, hard to beat that. I think it was a tough decision, too bad the goalies couldn't share it because they both deserved it.

I thought that was a bad call.He did not get the job done. And his play in this series was not all that great. He had 3 great series, but Broduer had 4 very solid series.

but then again, Broduer got a lot more help from his teammates then Giguere did.

Yeah that is true.I was kinda hoping Freisen would get it.He played good in the last two series, and did not hurt the Devils in the 1st two series. He was reliable.I just have a hard time giving a MVP trophy to someone on a team that didn't win.

the trophy is not the "Most Valuable Player On The Winning Team" trophy.....I think giguere deserved it

I realize that, but Giguere did not not get the job done.I think it should go to the person who has played the most consistent in all 4 series. He was average against the Devils.Broduer had 3 shutouts in the finals, that is something not even Patrick Roy did.Broduer got his team to the finals, and then won,Giguere cannot say the same thing.
I'am not bashing Giguere,he just didn't finish the job.He is a fantastic goalie.
