Baseball: Adrian Beltre

Can anyone believe the incredible season he's having? He was sort of under the radar compared to the usual big names a couple of weeks ago but has since exploded and ranks tops in homers, ahead of Pujols for batting average, behind only Bonds (of course) in slugging...

Worthy of MVP consideration perhaps? I'd expect him to finish behind Bonds and Pujols of course, but he is quite important to LA at the moment.

How so out of the question? His overall numbers slightly eclipse Pujols, and he is not in an inflated batting lineup. Bonds seems the only other player who will probably win MVP over Beltre at this moment, blocking a major push by any of these hitters.

Adrian just signed a 5 year deal with the Seattle Mariners.
