News
The Mariners activated outfielder Raul Ibanez from the 15-day disabled list prior to Saturday's game. He had been out since June 4 with a strained
right hamstring. He went hitless in four at-bats on Saturday. To make room on the roster, the Mariners designated shortstop Rich Aurilia for
assignment. The team now has 10 days to release, trade, or send Aurilia outright to the minors. "The writing was on the wall for something to happen,"
Aurilia told the Associated Press. "Of course, no player ever wants to hear the word 'designated' or 'release,' but in a sense as an individual this
could be the best thing that happened." Aurilia is hitting .241 with four homers and 28 RBI.

The Mariners are already in the process of overhauling their roster, and it makes no sense for Aurilia to stick around and block younger players.
Willie Bloomquist started in his place on Saturday, but we'd expect the club to give a long look at Justin Leone, who was hitting .270 with 21 homers,
51 RBI, and 56 runs at Triple-A before a recent call-up. As for Ibanez, fantasy owners can feel free to put him back into their lineups
