Curt Schilling has reportedly decided not to pitch in next week's All Star game. "Schill will not pitch," Red Sox manager Terry Francona said in an
Associated Press report. "He spent a lot of time speaking to medical people and came to the decision that it was just not in his best interest and I
understand that." Schilling has been pitching through pain since he was hit by a line drive in the ankle early this year.

Schilling has been taking two shots of Marcaine to numb the pain of his injured ankle every time he toes the rubber for the BoSox. At 11-4 with a 3.16
ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 116 strikeouts, it's hard to imagine what Schill could be doing if he could actually feel both of his legs. Maybe he will be
stepping on the ankle a bit lighter without the $50,000 bonus he is giving up by not starting the game. Let's hope the time off will help him heal.
Now the only question remaining is: which Yankee pitcher will Joe Torre select to replace him on the Amercian League squad
