Baseball: Who's the top rookies?

Who is going to be the top rookies this season?

Any predictions?

Mauer and LaRoche spring to mind,Mauer could definately turn out to be something special while LaRoche could well be consitant.We have a guy at the A's Bobby Crosby he has put up fantastic numbers in AAA, so he's got a good chance.

You see him in action or anymore you know about him?

i have seen him in a couple of spring training games, he came into camp not figuring to stick but has impressed everyone, he may get cought up in a numbers game and start out the year in triple A, if he does i think he will be in the bigs before long

i thinkwe get 3 spring training games on tv here, they are fun to watch, get to see a lot of the young players.

Edwin Jackson (pitcher) is shaping up nicely for the Dodgers... I think they are putting a lot of pressure on him by giving him the starting job over a couple very capable veterans who have done well during spring training (namely Jose Lima and Wilson Alvarez, who was fantastic last year), but he could be a hit this year.

sad news from marinercamp, hiram bocachica was sent down to the minors, in spite of a great spring training where he batted 351, played well in both the outfield and infield, he was sent down to AAA tacoma, he was a victim of numbers and just couldn't break into the strong mariner lineup, i look for him to be back in the majors real soon.....

That name just sounds really familiar; does he have any brother thats been in the majors?

can't find any record of a brother in the majors but he has had a few games over the last couple of years with the dodgers, and the tigers, the mariners got him from detroit....

ah I definitely remember him now...wasn't here very long , can't believe we gave him up

here are hiram's career major league stats, not quite hall of fame material...the m's have said that if they had decided to go with 11 pitchers instead of 12 coming out of camp he would have made the team
