Who made who?

A simple question: Did God create man, or did man create God?
Did God create the earth, man and the rest of the universe to have someone to love, or did man create God to have the ultimate father figure?

Thoughts?

Great question...If I was asked that I would say man created God.

I stopped believing God couple of years ago, now I believe in luck. Whenever I'm in a tough situation I hope luck will be on my side.

Few cunning, wealthy men saw this human trait as an oppurtunity to take control.

How could man start to exist with no God?

Did man creat the universe?

How can man create God who answers?

How did God create man?
How did God came into being?
If God was all that powerful why would he or she or it allow us to question him?

Universe could have been there the whole time...God could have been just a myth created by us.

Universe was not there the whole time cause its phisical and God is not. He is a spirit.

If there was no God then you would be a myth.

How about Sept 11? Surely they are Christians, why? They are Americans and they are bad.

Man created gods, it's happened all throughout history. In every society, man created at least one god to explain what their reasoning and science couldn't. Anyone ever notice how the Christian Holidays fall on Pagan Fesivals? Anyone also ever notice how the bible gets invoked everytime someone asks a question like this? Did it ever occur that the bible was written by men, and therefore is fallible? The bible is a great outline for a way for people to live good, moral lives. Along the lines of god being a spirit, somehow the spirit must have come to be. If something as relatively simple as a mass of stars and rocks could be created by a spirit, something as complex as an all powerful spirit must have been created by someone or something. Also, what about other religious groups? I don't just mean Jews and Muslims, what about the other factions of Christians? Ask a Jehovah's Witness, and everyone except them are going to hell. What about the undeniable proof that culture and religion both existed before the bible, before the Christ? Written history goes back before those things. In my mind, monotheism is polytheism refined, rather than having a god that makes the sun rise and one that makes a woman fertile and one to make # stink, they just made one god that does it all. Man made god to explain what s/he could not explain.

In brief, God created everything that is, including man. Then man re-created God in man's image.

good points kaoszero. there is no way to prove this either way. obviously the latter would make more sense that man created god. also why do people who believe in god say stupid stuff? like quote the bible or he made everything and without god you wouldnt exist. this is not provable fact. at least not yet. just because you believe something doesnt mean thats the way it is. people believed the earth was flat but it really wasnt. as for me i want to believe god exists but it just doesnt make sense. if god loved me why would he put me through this? why would he tell me to believe in a religion with no proof and not question it(thats what faith is) wouldnt it make more sense if man created it so that he we could deal with our own deaths and personal worth? no one wants to believe that they existed for nothing and will die never comeback. so they invented a religion with an after life that way you live on forever and you never have to worry about dying. also i notice that at most church's the people who attend are generally older. maybe this is because they realise that their time is approaching and they dont want to leave. o well i have pondered this fact many a night and i have come to the conclusion i will never get an answer till i die and by then it will be to late.

Why do you think dying is so bad? It is just when we leave physical bodies. Hell is worst than wars, dying and any possible suffering on Earth.
We are not on Earth to enjoy anything, we are here to pass the test. If we do, we go to God's kingdom, if not...

Jesus was son of God and he wasn't relieved from suffering.

And don't say that you don't like when someone quotes bible.. Jesus quoted it when he was tempted by devil because bible has answers to all questions you might ask not some human who can keep on philosophing about what you want to hear.

I believe in God because I have turned to him in suffering, and than he showed me impossible things, listened my prayers..

Of course Man creates God. Explaning God is obviously an ongoing effort of explaining All that was, is and can be which takes much much too long, so let's just stick with the reflected image of the creation for ease.

"(Wo)Man was alone with his awareness of SELF until he realized others like His/Her SELF. The more they discussed THEIR SELVES they starting realizing THEY ALL ARE EACH OTHER or EACH OTHERS SHADOW, and forever locked in to walking the same path as either The (Wo)Man or HIS/HER SHADOW which is CREATED BY HIS/HER Existence.

There would be NO "I" without being PART of "US" and vise versa. So "I" and "US" is ONE in the SAME. This also meant "We" define "SELF, US, and I" both individually and as a WHOLE in ONE FORM or ANOTHER. (Wo)Man then discovered "I, WE" created ourselves and others, just as GOD who created "US" who creates GOD who creates "US" who create GOD who creates "US"... and all (Wo)Man Loved and Understood all (Wo)Man as IT's SELF. Heaven... Balance... True Experience Unbridled...

-but remember that is only the relfection as I said at the begining. There is also what exists on the other side of the mirror too. Which side represents GOD though??

what i meant about the bible quotes is that when discussing whether god is real or not the bible does not mean anything. because the bible was written by men and not god so how is that proof of one?

also your bible quote solves nothing that i said. i asked why and there is no reason in your quote. just cause seems to be the reason.
