New Item in the Store and BIG SALE!

The high-bandwidth/Low-Bandwidth switch is now available in the ATS Store. It only costs 50 points to switch modes (each time).

For our users on dial-up connections, the low-bandwidth mode will be very helpful, as all thread extras (avatars, background colors, and signatures) are removed. In addition, the extra set of queries that display status and such are also disabled in threads, for faster overall performance.

For now, low/high bandwidth has no effect on the main board home page, the today's posts page, or the forum display pages. There may be some low-bandwidth effects on these pages in the near future.

And as always, when a new item appears in the store, everything is 50% off. The sale will continue for the next two hours.

I am suprised, kinda, that you have to pay for the low bandwidth, I would have guessed that you would have to pay for the high bandwidth to see everything. (my logic)

ATS is awesome now! If i could set the profile b/g color of everyone I could make it black and never see anyone's name. Then I could realize my dystopian anoynmous dream! Great service William!

Quick question.... Why in the hell are you charging members points for switching from high to low bandwith?

It seems to me that it should be a free option to be available for everyone. It sucks for dial up users of the board to pay for something that should be offered free of charge in the first place.

Because it was a pain in the ass programming something so seemingly simple into the crappy XMB code-base!!! I can't give away all that effort for free!
