Well - whatever next? The latest accusations from the Royal Palaces are the most shocking yet.

First a former junior valet, George Smith, gave up his anonymity to detail what he alleged was a homosexual rape by an aide to Prince Charles at St James's palace.

Then the man concerned, who's already been investigated by the police, broke his silence to deny the claims.

And there are further reports of allegations of misconduct which may involve a member of the Royal Family.
