You may not be able to go to every American's door, but if you make a bold statement like you did, then you'd best have the stats behind it to back it up. I believe it makes no difference at all. They have hated us and will continue to hate us no matter what we do, or don't do. That's how they have lived for thousands of years. They don't think like us. It's an entirely different culture and an entirely different thought process. From my view point it's almost like they are from a different planet.

I DID think that by liberating Iraq that the people would finally be free and then be happier with America. At first they were. Now .... they are ungrateful for the chance at freedom and bite the hand that freed them.

Are you talking about Hiroshima and Nagasaki? I visited Hiroshima. Very interesting park and museum.

The country deserved to be bombed. They started a war with us and we finished it. They absolutely would not surrender. Even their children as young as 6 were in the factories making bullets. Their entire society was geared for the war.

Bombing them was the right thing to do. It ended the war. It saved American lives.

We rebuilt the country. I have been to Yokohama. The nice wide streets and newer style buildings are courtesy of the USA. As far as them being grateful that we helped rebuild their country after THEY ATTACKED US .... some are and some aren't. I lived in Japan for three years and got mixed responses in that area.

I think the Japanese where very grateful that we didnt hang there Emperor Hirohito from a flag pole, but we did make him admit that he wasnt the Direct descendant of the Sun God.

Im sure the young of Japan today are happy we stomped there evil ancestors, after all we are good friends with Japan today, and they are infact generally nice respectful people.
