Nobody can attack Jesus, he is king of kings, he is untouchable, he is the Son of God. The best people can do is attack his followers. This is what Jesus has to say about that:

From Jesus' Sermon on the Mount

Matthew 5:11-12

"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

So when someone attacks or insults, you shal receive a blessing directly from God. Praise the Lord!

Well,my main beef with this whole thread is,has ben and will continue to be isthe fact that no one has attacked the teachings of Christ. Now, that is not saying that people haven't attacked the institution of "christianity." However, it is a fallacy to eqaute attacking "christianity" with actually attacking Christ. Why would anyone attack the principles that Christ stood for

1. Love one another
2. Do not judge
3. Live and let live

Those are principles that only a fool would attack. However, "christianity" as it exists in some circles does not uphold these principles.

kinglizard, christians aren't the followers of jesus

jesus preached a semi-open form of religion (except for that whole "don't preach to the gentiles" passage)

hell, all we have from jesus is quoted by people who must have heard it from third parties (i'm postulating that he exists here, even though i don't believe that he does)

i think that the most christian person that i've seen on this board would be speakeroftruth

why?
because he's the most rational in his beliefs

if you believe god gave you all you have, use your rational capacities, they are a gift from god

Madness, it doesn't matter what you say, Kiglizard and I already have the faith in Jesus and God, and so do other Christians, we know our reward is in heaven.

Praise Jesus!

Yes, because this place is only temporary, heaven is forever!

humble, why don't you introduce rational thought into your beliefs?
you should believe that god gave it to you

do you honestly think a document written by humans a few thousand years ago, then repeatedly translated and recopied can be 100% infallible?

when you add logic to anything you can get more truth, why not do so with religion?

You know, they have historical copies that are very closely dated to the originals, and the dead sea scrolls also prove the translations of the old testament are accurate.

...
you ignore the main point
IT WAS WRITTEN BY HUMANS
i could understand if you believe that the 10 commandments are infallible, as judeo-christian belief states that god just gave them to moses

or if a muslim believes the koran is infallible, because it was supposedly directly dictated to muhammed by god, and written all at once

however, the bible is a compilation of the writings of several people, spaced years apart
and it does contain inconsistencies

just because they are similar to the originals, doesn't mean the error of man wasn't involved

and hence the lack of logic and rational thought that you personally believe god gave you

you do not see your religion as anything more than a perfectly outlined path to heaven

as opposed seeing it as a complex philosophical decision that should not be childishly simplified

I see you didn't mention his participation in a blood sacrifice and threatening people with hellfire for unbelief?

Or telling folk to leave their family and children, telling folk to love him more than their family and children, killing fig trees and not to think for the morrow?

And lets not forget his lie about the end of the world happening within a generation......will that do?

Wow. That is exactly what is wrong with "christians". You have this sort of entitlement.

I will tell you what, just because you believe, and maybe read the bible, doesnt mean you go to heaven.
It doesnt mean you autopopulate right in there.

Truth is you dont #, and you dont know if there is a reward waiting for you. Thats like a saying when I die I will get chocolate cake, when I dont know what I will get.

So get off your high horse.
