The Iranian president is stupid. Now, with that being said, I don't really care what he says about Israel. I doubt I will see any established country set off a nuke in my lifetime. If the USSR and US didn't, then I doubt Israel and Iran is. And if they do, not my problem! I am 4000 miles away!

Let me pose this view....

Israel has been the biggest threat to Iran in the means of being the one to step forward to destroy Iran's nuke program (facilities)(and of course with the backing of the US). It has been proven that there has been no proof of a nuclear weapons program in Iran, and publicly announced of a program to create electricity. Here's just a couple links to verify...

No nukes

Peaceful nuke program

Now, with that in mind... let's pretend for a moment. Let's say "you" are the president of Iran, making technology advancements for "your" people. Now, add to that, another country (let's say Israel with the backing of the US for example) was threatening to blow the crap out of "your" rightful achievements, for no other reason that "We're afraid you'll nuke us"...

Wouldn't "you", as the Iranian president, trying to make things better for your populous, be pissed that someone threatened to blow you up? Wouldn't "you", as the Iranian president, partaking in the exact same technology that the US has provided for India (nuke deal), be pissed for being declined the same rights "given" to someone else?

I don't think Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is quite as crazy as people make him out to be, IMO.

Let's put this another way...

If you were President Bush, and someone threatened to blow up the WTC (regardless of the argument there)... wouldn't you want to retaliate, too? (work with me, just trying to paint a picture) That's why Iran says it will wipe Israel off the face of the planet, Israel threatened Iran, too. It's a matter of self defense, IMO. "I'll beat your butt... No, I'll beat your's first"

IMO, Iran is being used as a stage for Bush cronies and the like, to continue their takeover of the Middle East.

Don't get me wrong, I know that Iran has partaken in a lot of wrongs (terrorism and the like). IMO, everyone should back off of Iran and focus on the one that has openly admitted to having nuclear weapons, for that specific reason... Like, Krazy Kim... he wants wmd, he's got em, and he was allowed to detonate them. WTF!?

By saying " ...the curve of Zionist regime's life is on the decline..." , Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad only infers a regime change in Isreal will happen soon.
..."Just as the ground was prepared to assign such a regime, the Zionist regime will be overthrown by its supporters," This seems to indicate that HE believes Isreal supporters won't always BE supporters.

Here's the link to the Prez' own site:

www.president.ir...

Naming your thread. " Iranian president says Israel's days are numbered", makes it sound like he calling for a genocide or something?
just my 2 cents.
BTW.....my first post here on ATS.......love this place!!

I also think the Iranian president is crazy, but no more than our president Bush or Kim Jon Il or Bin Laden. With Sadaam gone now these are the remaining Axis of Terror and the world would be a much better place without any of them.

I don't think that Iran has developed nukes.............yet. However they may have some nuclear weapons.

I also have heard from an ex-Iranian that he thinks they have them and got them from Russia. But this is no different that Israel getting theirs from us.

The ME is a powder keg IMHO, and hopefully clearer heads will prevail.

i share the view of a couple of you,
it's all just so much philosophical-rhetoric, open to being spinned as a 'threat'

on-the-other-hand,
with all the e-coli outbreaks in vegetables lately, and the most recent
e-coli outbreak thought to have been spread through onions...

it occurs to me that if an e-coli were to infect the Garlic supply
then Woe to the Israeli population!

Pres. Ahmad..., just may be privy to plots & schemes v. Israel?

President Bush isn't crazy. We have the capacity to vaporize the entire Middle East simultaneously if we wanted to. If Bush was crazy, we would do that.

If Iran gets nukes, they will attempt to use them against Israel. They won't care about the consequences, because to them it is a form of Jihad, and is necessary to do. It is their duty, in their eyes.

You can't try to assign Western logic to countries that are totally devoid of any logic at all. Their entire way of thinking is completely different. Things that would make sense to them do not make sense to us.

Still, we are right. I hope Iran gets blown off the map. They're one of the most anti-American countries in the world, and just for that they are scum. When I saw footage of people from various Middle East countries celebrating in the streets and burning American flags on September 11th, I became a violent nationalist and I would be grimly happy to see them all wiped out.

Very nice.

The mentality you have shown in your post here, is of two views...

1)your views are contradictory - it's ok for you to have this view, but not another country or it's countrymen?

2)you are no better than the one you are criticizing - that's the same terroristic thinking that Ahmadinejad has been labeled as having.

I am not saying Ahmadinejad should run around threatening to kill people, or to commit genocide, as has been alleged... but for Christ's sake, people... who are you to complain about what he, or anyone else does, when you sit there and do the same exact thing?

What is wrong with you?

Here's the difference.

1) Western views are correct.

2) Islamofascist views are incorrect.

The horses arse of a leader...Iranian pres.... likes to talk lots of S__T!

However, I remember reading after the fourth or fifth time of horse arse saying Israel should/will be wiped off the face of the map, netanyahu, responded that Iran could be wiped off the map "TOO"...The Iranians threw a pissy fit.

Seems if they can't take it, they should not dish it out.

On the one hand I would really love to see Iran's top 10 cities turned into smoking glass bowels, but it would effect the weather across the planet.

One of these days all of the horses arse's speeches just might get him his due.

Western logic? What crock!

Logic is universal. Cultures are different. And they're not always logical.

Those are your opinions. Just the same as anyone else would have theirs. But that doesn't make you, or the Western views, correct. And that sure doesn't make their views incorrect.

To educate you on the correct American (western) view I'm sure you're referring to...

The United States of America was founded by the Declaration of Independence in 1776, and by and under the Constitution back when it was adopted in its original form on September 17, 1787 by the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania...

The U.S. was formed with (amongst others) the views and ideas of "Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Speech". Those were the two biggest issues that drew "us" away from big bad Henry.

Your comment of, "When I saw footage of people from various Middle East countries celebrating in the streets and burning American flags on September 11th, I became a violent nationalist and I would be grimly happy to see them all wiped out.", is very disheartening in the American view. That is not the American view... that's is a view of radicalism... that is the view of the islamofascists you complain about.

How many countries have been shown on the news burning the American flag? Does that mean we should "nuke" every single one of them for not believing the same as "us"? That sounds to me like a fascist's way of thinking. Regardless that Bushy has your same type of thinking, this great land we call home, America is not a fascist state.

You say you are a "violent nationalist"? Do you understand what that means? Violent - you want to kill. That doesn't make you any better than the ones being criticized. Nationalist - you believe in nationalism... nationalism - you promote your culture and interest. Again, sounds the same as what you are labeling someone as an "islamofascist". So that means you want to kill those that don't believe the same as you.

You, without a doubt, have made yourself sound very un-American. I am disgusted in your actions in this thread. You should be ashamed. You are the last one to call the kettle black.

Some factual corrections:

We ought to nuke the schluzz out of those Iranians. They celebrated in the streets on September 11th. Absolute scum.

The Iranian government condemned the 9-11 attacks immediately.
There were "no celebrations in the streets", however there was a candlelight vigil in Tehran that attracted about 60,000 people - people demonstrating against the 9-11 attacks.

Iran: "Israel's days are numbered."
MEANING: "We want to wipe them off the face of the planet, kill everyone."

The actual quote:

“The Zionist regime will be wiped out soon the same way the Soviet Union was, and humanity will achieve freedom,” Ahmadinejad said during Tuesday’s meeting in his offices, according to the official IRNA news agency.

He called for elections among “Jews, Christians and Muslims so the population of Palestine can select their government and destiny for themselves in a democratic manner.”

Not quite the call for genocide it's being portrayed as.
Oops.

Pardon me for this impolite interruption with inconvenient facts, you may now resume your regularly scheduled hatemongering

Ha, there is more than meets the eye going on here.

www.ynetnews.com...

If the KKK hosted a conference in which it denied slavery ever happened, it is possible that they would be able to find a small handfull of Black people who would agree with their views and they would certainly invite those Black people to their conference to further their views. It does not mean those Black people speak for the majority of Black people, nor does it mean that the KKK likes Black people. Those Rabbis at the Iranian conference certainly do not represent a majority of Jews, and they were invited not because Iran has respect for Jews, but because the Rabbis could advance the Iranian's rhetoric.

I do not like the guy, but I would not call him stupid. Every time he runs his mouth and says "stupid" things, the price of his country's #1 export (oil), goes up in price. All this rhetoric is a play by the Iranian regime to

1. Secure their power base. Iran's regime has been threatened by internal pushes for reform. By advancing this rhetoric of the Iranian people being besieged by Israel and/or the USA, it makes the people want to rally around their leaders rather than overthrow them.

2. Get a piece of Iraq, when it inevitably crumbles.

Yes, logic is universal, but Western logic is not. Different groups have different forms of logic, which differ fundamentally. If faced with the same problem, different forms of logic would produce radically different solutions.

Iran says it wants Israel to be able to choose its government, but is that really necessary? I mean, they won a war. They've earned their turf. At any rate, even if they had an election, I have a feeling if Israel elected all Jews to office, Mr. Psycho from Iran would flip his wig.

He clearly has an anti-Jewish agenda. To claim that the Holocaust didn't occur isn't anti-Zionist, it's anti-Jew.

If you watch VICE guild to travel i think its called. they goto bulgaria and some how meet up with someone who sells nuke warheads for 50G

I think Iran is about to get spanked by the US and heres why...

First US VP the Dickster made a personal visit to Saudia Arabia Thanks giving weekend. This trip was to get the Sauds up to speed on the responce to a Nuclear test by the Iranians which is expected very soon.

There was not much press on this visit by the VP because it was not announced to the MSM....

Second, GWB made a personal visit to Jordan a few weeks back, and this visit was the same as the Dicksters to S.A. To reassure Jordans King that we will not stand by and allow Iran to play in the nuclear game.

Third, GWB has had Iraqi leaders visiting the White House this past week, and I will bet money that W is letting them know what to expect and what is expected from them once the nuclear ball is in play in Iran.

Fourth, Tony Snow made this comment from the podium at the Whit House last week that "Iran will have enough to deal with in the near future".

And finally Israel's PM let it slip this week that Israel has nuclear weapons.
This is a warning to Iran, if you attack we will hit back.

I think it will go like this, Iran tests a nuclear weapon sometime in early January. The US will hit Iran hard using air and missile weapons taking out communication, power and air military putting Iran back in the dark ages, when this happens Israel will hit Syria and Lebanon by air and land taking out Syrian and Hammas leadership and then their gound forces.

Irans President and gov will be overthrown by right wing college students and moderates who protested this past week in Iran, I can't wait for this to unfold....

So you're supporting that Islamofascist scumbag?
We ought to nuke the schluzz out of those Iranians. They celebrated in the streets on September 11th. Absolute scum.

Just goes to show how informed you are Southern cross. Not all Iranians celebrated the aweful events of 9-11. In actual fact most of them actually held a candle light vigil for all those poor people who lost there life's on that fateful sad day. And yes I do support them, over Bush, Blair and people like you any day!

www.time.com...

Considering this thread is about Iran's threats towards Israel. It's funny you dont mention anything about those Mosaad agents jumping up and down with joy as the buildings fell.
Ignorance is bliss!
