I could have sworn my eyes were playing tricks on me, that what I saw about an hour ago was a UFO above the skies in Spokane, WA in Browns Mountain. I know my eyes were just playing tricks on me, it couldn't have been a UFO. it moved so fast that I only got a 1 second glimpse of it before I shook my head and cleaned my glasses.

That is truly amazing considering that yesterday you posted this,

I have never seen a real ufo in my entire life, but I do believe that the pilots at the Chicago International Airport did see an alien spacecraft.

eerie.

where was the one in Australia? Is there a thread for it?
I saw some pretty unusual stuff the other night above Sydney. There was a weird bright light in the sky which seemed to appare there and when i took photos of it it was like a weird snake thinig that keeps moving round and breaking apart and putting it self back together

please post these

I'll try to make another thread about it tonight if I can get on the internt (I'm still on dile-up). These pics are pretty big so I might have to crop some of them before I upload and I will try and compress the original images with winRAR.

The object was out again last night and so were two others. A bit unusual I think, they were all out before the stars were out and I managed to get some video of it but all it showed was the object as a bright circle with a dot it the middle, also my camera couldn't focus on it well as it kept moving around.

That's fine ... but even if we declare this picture to be a hoax, it is no indication that the event itself is a hoax. I mean if your tire on your car goes flat, do you go searching down the highway for the nail that caused the hole, or do you go look for a replacement for the tire? What I'm getting at is too much time is being spent on this picture, rather than doing REAL work trying to find out more details on the event. This picture, even if it is real, is not going to be enough proof of the event for the majority of the public anyways. We need eyewitness testimony.

I agree. I've never doubted the event, although there is a possiblity that the entire thing was fabricated.

I'm in no power to get "the truth" about what happened. And I don't think anyone is. Eyewitness testimony is subject to scrutiny and issues with credibility. Although I would be very interested to get more information.

Hi... sorry I vanished for a few days... some friends and I decided to head up into Michigan for some lovely lake-effect blizzard enjoyment.

TheShadow, lol, no worries, am not offended... I haven't expected to be taken at face value, which is why I've pretty much opened my life up to the people investigating this, including Linda Moulton Howe. I'm perplexed by the lack of photos, too... although I would caution everyone to remember that most people aren't net-savvy or even connected. The people who I was with were going to the international terminal --- many may not live in the US, and may have no idea of the attention this sighting has gotten. Also, due to the distance from the object, those with cellphone cameras or even lower-end digital cameras may have found the object nearly invisible in their photos, and may not realize that with current photo enhancement software much can be done to amplify the images.

It's a bit frustrating to me not to be able simply to be completely open with all of you as to my identity and my life story... and while my word, as a complete stranger to you, means little, it's all I've got here in the open forum, but I've given a wealth of personal information to those investigators actively involved in this case. But I have no connection to ATS or to anyone who works or even posts here --- I found out about this thread from a friend who saw mention of it on another site, and once I'd read the entire thread, I decided to "come out" here because I felt that the moderators here were sincere and diligent. I won't make a dime from this --- in fact, it's cost me some money and a fair amount of time, and promises to cost more before it's over. I'm here because, as do most of you, I want the truth. I've been interested in UFOs since my father (a former Navy carrier group officer) told me of a very close sighting he had while on his helicopter carrier in the '60s. I also have a passion for archaeology, paleontology, wine-making, astronomy, football, mountain-climbing and old cars... I know a fair amount about the hard sciences, and am in general a hellaciously inquisitive person. I read voraciously, and have loved good science fiction since childhood. Prior to coming here, I wasn't a UFO freak, but I wasn't ignorant of fairly major large-scale sightings (eg, the Phoenix lights, the Mexico City "fleet"). I don't surf UFO sites online (although I have done a bit of that since coming here, mainly at the request of researchers, who have asked me a number of times to examine different photos of other objects and compare them to what I saw). I don't normally spend much time online... email, a little shopping, research, and formerly MSN chat, when I'd just had surgery and needed a social outlet while recovering. I stopped being a news anchor/reporter in 1986, when I realized that my not having a degree in journalism or communications would likely prevent my being able to become a news director in a decent market. That's why I "converted" over to becoming a chef at the age of 31. As for having seen UFOs before... we've ALL seen unidentified flying objects. Most have, I think, a fairly mundane terrestrial explanation. I did see a metallic disk once... that would have been about 34 years ago, and my mother and then-boyfriend saw it, too. It has no relevance whatsoever to this sighting 2/3 of my life later, except that perhaps it in part has kept me looking at the sky over the years.

Again, it's as frustrating for me as it is for you --- I wish I could introduce myself to you and talk as people instead of as letters on a screen. But I've given a lot of personal information to the moderators here and to other researchers... have even told them where I still have recipes from my old restaurant online, as a means of establishing identity and credibility. If my account differs from that of any other witnesses, I accept that --- I'm only telling what I personally saw and where I saw it.

I've mentioned this before, but it bears repeating...

Even I, who live in the Chicago area and watch Chicago TV news, didn't realize that the O'Hare sighting had gotten any media attention whatsoever until after the Tribune article, when I saw mention of the article listed among the stories on MSNBC or some similar site. In other words, if I didn't at least spend a little time online and get some or most of my news from online sites, even I wouldn't have known that others saw and reported this object. I really do suspect that some witnesses --- even local ones --- simply haven't been exposed to the publicity. This is a big deal here, and it's a big deal to me, but even locally many people haven't seen a single story or heard a single word about the sighting.

Welcome back, Eyewitness. Hope you enjoyed your time off.
I missed reading your posts even though there was a minor ATS meltdown while you were gone.

Ace, lol, yes, I noticed a touch o' meltdown when I got back... but I do thoroughly understand. As I said before, it's frustrating not to be able to sit in a room with those of you who are truly serious truthseekers, and talk openly with you. It's even been tempting to give my name and phone number to one of you regular old-timers here so someone here other than the moderators can sort of vet me on behalf of the "unwashed masses," lol, but then I get the feeling that that wouldn't be enough, either --- that I'd pretty much have to open my life up to a whole pack of strangers before everyone would be convinced that I'm sincere, honest and not connected at all to anyone here at ATS. But it was the seriousness and sincerity of some of the longtimers who posted here on this thread that convinced me to speak here in the first place, and even the occasional meltdown won't singe me enough to scare me off, lol.

See, SkyWay, told you if there was real footage or photos they'd be worth cash....

If someone at Chicago's O'Hare Airport was in fact able to capture video footage of the November 2006 sighting, this person may also happen have an understanding of the immense value of such lucrative content. Quality UFO & Extraterrestrial video footage has been known to generate relatively big dollars. In 'holding out for the cash' an O'Hare eyewitness could in theory, make a lot of money off of the first & perhaps only video taken of this significant event in UFO history.

Greedy? Perhaps, but not something too many people would pass up on.

ok, im in the Hawkesbury at North Richmond and when i look east up in the sky its there. It actualy looks like a planet (to the naked eye) but its moving around. oh and it was high in the sky, not like over in the distance, but I had to look right up to see it. Hope that answers your question.

Grab one of the free astronomy packages (xephem is my favorite, but there are others), install it on your machine, put in your nearest city, and have a look at tonight's sky. Venus is very prominent in the Western sky. In the East, Sirius and Saturn are quite bright. Make sure you rule out those brightest objects before proceeding.

I'm pretty sure it wasnt them because they are in different positions in the sky. Also there was three of them all doing the same thing. Not sure what they could be. In the video I look the thing was constantly moving so I couldnt focus on it. I would upload it but I havent been able to get it off my camera.

OK, This thread seems to be well on its way to a quiet death, and I should know better than to prolong the inevitable, but this thing's gotten under my skin and I can't let go.

The lack of security response to a lingering intruder into restricted airspace is a point that still sticks in my craw. If this incident ocurred, and I have no reason to doubt the testimony of multiple, credible, even professional witnesses that it did, then why is/was there NO evidence of a security response: They had the means, they had the time, and even if it was a hoax, they had the Duty!to check it out.

And yet, Nothing!?

Are we to believe that airport security just sat on their thumbs for 15 minutes while this thing hovered over one of the runways?

That no one thought to send a car, a van, a luggage tram, hell, even a bicycle! out there to get under the thing and try to ID it by its registration number; or to report that it didn't have a number?

15 MINUTES!!! For cryin' out loud, someone could have walked out there! Maybe even with a camera! Some of the reports say that flight operations were delayed while this thing hung around, so it's not as if sending someone, anyone! out for a "meet and greet" would have incurred any additional disruption to airport ops.

Were there no calls to the local police, perhaps via 9-1-1, to send help? Maybe request a fly-by in a police helicopter for an "up close and personal" get the "bleep" outta here? The Chicago PD does have a chopper, don't they?

Another point: the stunning lack of photos availible to date.

I know, I know, open wound. But I was just wondering; one of the classic "effects" of a close encounter is the malfunctioning of electrical/electronic devices.

With the predomienence of digital photography, is it possible that we might never get the "Million Dollar Shot", an up close, detailed digitally clear photo of a UFO, simply because the dang thing freaks out the camera's electronics?

A truly depressing thought.

And if all these UFO's are uniformly "featureless", it's going to be very difficult to determine much about them from "long-distance" photos. Even if those photos are digitally produced.

So, maybe someone did try to get a shot of this thing, someone "official", and, using a digital camera, the shot was "disrupted".

No photo, no proof, No story to the bosses.

i thought when this first broke that i read articles that said they looked on the radar and couldn't see anything.

what else were they supposed to do? what else are they supposed to do? it was only visible to a limited number of people for a short amount of time. the chance of documentation and investigation is over!

chances are, the airline folk know as much as anyone else. the official stance has to be a weather phenomenon because too many people saw something in the clouds to deny it's existence, but it was undetectable and unidentifiable otherwise.

weather phenomenon makes as much sense as "spaceship" or even "government probe", only weather phenomenon will minimize panic.

Why do people keep saying that nothing was done to investigate the incident.

You think that NO ONE did anything?? Hec, they had the employees write down what they saw, draw pictures, do interviews....they checked the radars for foreign airspace invasion (remember, they saw nothing, according to FAA), they probably made a few calls to nearby Air Force bases for any information.

So if all this information leads to nothing concrete, what else are they to do?? Keep interviewing?? Post on the internet??

EVEN if the United folks and FAA believed that the object was in fact some UFO from outer space.....what are they supposed to do??

Closed down the airport for fear of additional UFO visits and lose $ 50 million/day ?? It is the 1st or 2nd busiest airport in the US. Or come out and proclaim that hey we don't know but we believe it to be a UFO....not a chance.....it's embarassing.

I am beginning to believe that this was nothing more than a publicity stunt by Dan Ackroyd (paid off people working for United) for his forthcoming UFO DVD. He has come out to announce that he has "exclusive" footage.....how does he know this?? Has he covered everyone who potentially took pictures and videos??

How can he claim "exclusivity" without accounting for every UNITED employee, passengers at every terminal with a camera, cars driving by on roads (public roads) , every person at parking lots and garages walking in or riding in a shuttle from miles around, etc.

Maybe he can claim this exclusivity ONLY because he knows HE CAN...it was all fabricated as a publicity stunt.

Hey, Hollywood knows what to do to garner publicity for extra bucks......maybe we all bit into it ??
