Well, this is my first post here, I'll post in the introduction thread right after this one.

I've always believed in "UFO's". It made utter nonsense to me that we are the only ones floating around on a rock in space.

I myself, along with my mother, grandmother and grandfather saw a UFO. We were living in Florida and around eight, eight thirty my grandmother looked out the back door and happened to look up in the sky. (She loves the stars.)

She sees something and yells at all of us to take a look. When we come to the back door she points to a little star. At first were like what's wrong, theres just stars there.

And she says just wait a second so we did. Sure enough, the star started to move. Up, down, left and right. It continued doing so for a while. Changing directions constantly. You could see it wasn't a star or an airplane. We all stood there for a good five minutes before we saw it just zip straight up and out of sight.

It was the first sighting that I have ever had. My younger brother has seen many strange things. (Cigar shaped glowing things, strange orbs that make noises and such.)

Anyways, thanks for taking a read.

Welcome Scharfshutze, may your stay be long and fulfilling.

Your sighting seems like the typical encounter a lot of people speak of (and I have read a lot about), it's a seemingly strange unidentifiable and reason free encounter.

I tell you now I have no answers for you! But it would be interesting to hear a little more from you.

We were living in Florida and around eight, eight thirty

Do you have any recollection of the date, and have you checked the locality newspapers to see if there were any other sightings around that date?
(Maybe google the area and date just in case] along with a few choice keywords in turn)

When we come to the back door she points to a little star.

Do you have any idea what direction on a compass you were looking in? Do you have any idea regarding the size of the object or the distance and altitude it was from you?

Up, down, left and right. It continued doing so for a while. Changing directions constantly.

Would you be able to guess at the speed of these movements? Or the distance and time frame they appeared to cover?

We all stood there for a good five minutes before we saw it just zip straight up and out of sight.

Were there any sound or lights maybe flashes of some sort? Did anyone manage to get to a camera in that time?

My younger brother has seen many strange things. (Cigar shaped glowing things, strange orbs that make noises and such.)

If there is a chance you could pass on his stories, I am sure there would be a lot of interest here on ATS.

Anyways, thanks for taking a read.

You're very welcome!! And I look forward to hearing more.

Thank you for the welcome xSGx.

I'm not exactly sure when this was, but it was either late 1994 or 1995.

We heard no noises or any lights. (with the exception of the actual craft, a glowing white as a regular star.)

I would say we saw this towards the North above treetops. I would guess the height would be around a few thousand feet. (A rough guess.) The movements of the "flying star" was quite jerky. Suddenly going from one direction to another. I would say extremely fast. (I doubt anything we have today could do this.)

We didn't even think about taking pictures/video. (I regret every day!)

I'll also take a google later on and see what I dig up. (I'll edit this post when I do that.)

I've posted a story that my brother and I have on the paranormal boards.

I'll post some more strange tightenings tomorrow.

Again, thanks for the warm welcome!

You are welcome.

Thanks for the extra info it might be an idea if you can ask anyone else that saw this to recall a more defined date and I will have a look on google and the sighting sites too, maybe we can dig up a little more.

There might be links to night time moving star type videos
at some of the links in my signature but that was a neat sightning.

I recall star like lights moving around a storm cloud and a ufo
with three light sources on night time videos.

I got some new videos, but do not think I got the oval ones.
Multiple lights, sphere in the clouds and beam at the end, and
Manta Ray over the surf in Florida:

This might be an oval comes from behind the trees at the right
moves left with sparking and speeds off to the right:

Flying below a specified altitude with experimental aircraft is
perfectly legal, anyone can do it.

Hey Tesla, great videos. (The last one seemed fake though?)

None of those appeared to be what I saw. Like I said, it looked like just another star, but moving up, down, left and right over and over again periodically changing directions.

First of all, welcome to ATS.

How could you see it wasn't an airplane, it was only because of the movement or was something else.

Well, I served in the U.A.S.F. for three years and know what a plane looks like
And I now for a fact, by both the movement, and how it glowed, that is was indeed no plane. The movements were way to jerky. (zigzagging left and right and up and down.) I know of no planes being able to do this without ripping itself apart and killing the pilot. (And not to mention, how could a prop/jet plane suddenly just change directions in a split second?) And I'm also sure it wasn't a helicopter either.

Thanks for the replies!

All photos and video have the fake look and might hsve some characteristic
of what you might think is a ufo, perhaps the fakers put lights in to make it
similar to visual accounts.

A group called Senora Desert videos have light jumping erratically at
night and in the day light.

Ever hear of random walk or the mean path, thats my idea for whats happening
as the craft must be switching power responses.

This is supposid ball lightning, air craft or ufo taking off in a storm, not the star
or jumping but looks like a moving star:

www.youtube.com...

Night time jumping, not a star and might not be what I have
put next to a reference picture but see some of the some listed on the right.

www.youtube.com...

A day time jumping around, sure of this one:

www.youtube.com...

There are videos at night posted here on abt but were triangles, only
because the same area had daytime triangle (three light sources) craft,
so some lights jumping around at night... triangle craft as a guess.

"A day time jumping around, sure of this one:

The look of the ufo on this video is the exactly what we saw. (But at night.)

I couldn't really see how the movement was because of the camera shaking so I can't tell you if it acted the same.

I have always been a star watcher, comptemplated the world, well I was maybe 12 at the time i was watching the sky on a crisp clear night and for some reason I felt compelled to look at a certain star. I watched it and to my amazement it started to move, it moved it all directions until it finally left past the horizon. It looked pretty high up. What was it I have no idea.

I've seen on video or heard similar situations for both observations.

Here are some videos posted here on ats:

There is the so called Norfork Incident that has a jumpy path, don't have link.

I have a collection of links and a few ufo video favs at youtube.

See those links from this ats thread
