You need to order these:

www.k-var.com...

These are Bulgarian manufactured - don't buy US manufactured magazines, cars, household appliances, or chocolate

But K-Var has sold out of black and only has limited numbers of the other 2 colors.

Be quick if you still need them.

Are the Bulgarian ones made of Steel or plastic?

Get a pakerizing kit and sand those old clips down to remove all of the rust. The new ones are hit and miss, there are good ones but the older ones are far better as a general rule of thumb. If you can find old ones at a show pick them up if they aren't a arm and a leg. You can get reblue too but I like parkerizing much better, plus if you wanted to you could parkerize the whole gun, and have that nice matte black finnish. I would do some reading about it to make sure you don't change any tolerances though. I have also seen a guy put brass strips like the old india sten clips had, in sks mags to help them feed smoother you loose a couple rounds but it is well worth it.

In no particular order:

1. Ammunition deemed to cause excessive wounding is banned from military use under the Hague Convention (and yes the US did sign the second one) hollowpoints fall into this category if they either expand or fragment more easily as a result, this was adjudged to exclude the open tipped boattail rounds approved for use by US snipers (as they don't expand).

2. Yes the Bulgarian magazines are plastic.

3. Don't call them clips, call them magazines - unless A) you're a gang banger; or B) you're loading a Garand, Broomhandle Mauser, Lee Enfield etc etc

4. Buy as many AKs on-line as you desire from www.gunbroker.com or www.gunsamerica.com
