I recently voted for the first time, and my city used electronic voting for the first time. The place where I voted reportedly got almost 50% of
registered voters for my city. After not receiving a receipt when my ballot was put in the machine, I was a little shocked because I didn't think the
"no paper trail" voting system was being used anywhere in Canada, let alone in my city. The machine was called the Accuvote by Global Election
Systems. If my city just spent a bootload of money for these machines, how come they still say Global Election Systems on them? Diebold bought GES in
2002.
