I'm sure that there are subliminals all over the place. I have no doubt about that.

In the case of the wildly blinking ads that come up on ATS I don't think they are subliminal at all. They are OBNOXIOUS, but not subliminal. Subliminals either catch you off guard or are getting you at a SUB concious level and therefore you usually aren't aware of them.

When people say the government control the media, what exactly do they mean? like "they" being the governemt, walk into a the big time media office building and start telling all the employes, HEY U GOTA START PUTTING SUBLMINAL MSG'S INTO YOUR ADDS SO WE CAN CONTROL THE POPULATION etc. thats complete bull#. Each company is made up of workers just like you and me, as someone stated before, there working there to make a living, not try and sneak subliminal msg's into addvertisements. And for the ones that do use subliminal msg's in there adds, youl realise its harmfull subliminal messages which are usualy jokes. For the people who disagree, how about you get off your fat arse's and go and try make a living in one of these agencies, try find a job in the government , work your way up in the ranks, its the only way to find out the truth, instead of sitting around on your arse's all day watching and reading conspiracy thoerys.

At this point i'll be curious to ANY conspiracy theory because so much of the bizarre has been confirmed for me to be somewhat or partially true.

HOWEVER!

The claims you state damage millions of people supposedly on consistant basis. You owe it to the millions of people to reveal your source. You say you are in constant danger, and wrote up your initial response on notepad, but don't you understand all internet communications are logged and your enemies know who you are? That goes for all of us in fact. Why don't you reveal the information behind your source, and then you can make a big impact. As for now, you're probably only effecting a very tiny percentage of people without hardcore evidence. Don't be afraid either... you can always move.

We are not being programmed. We are not computers. Even under the best subliminal ads it would only be a suggestion. We have independent thought there for we can not be programmed. To program would be to take away all choice. If you are weak minded enough to allow that then find a nice padded room get rid of all connections to the out side world. There is no danger from goggle ads. No computer speakers I know of are capable of ultrasonic sound.

And, uh, it's called an advertisement. They're supposed to get to you see and buy products. So that, you know, the economy doesn't collapse and that you can actually get out of the house and buy something you want.

Interesting comments here and a lot of this is valid because mind control is a scientific field with a lot of research out there to back it up. I can see this becoming more sophisticated especially with webtv coming on stream in future. There will be a lot more opportunities to embed stuff in video transmissions via the web then there ever was with broadcast tv.

What I always found interesting about Google is how this operation came out of nowhere. I've been on the web at least 10 years now and I can remember when there was lots of other web search engines around and nobody even heard of Google.

Then all of a sudden everyone is talking about it and within a few years it takes over to the point where now it is like the microsoft of the internet.

Makes me wonder if the illumaniti isn't behind this organization somehow.

I have noticed a few things wrong with your thread, first of all, you said that there are people after you and although I dont strongly think that you need medication you surely are wrong and I have mozilla firefox so popups arent as bad and it blocks out the most annoying ones. the Pop ups that arent blocked go on a corner next to the mozilla firefox page and these stay there for good.

If you seriously have a hatred of popup blocking try downloading a pop up blocker. IT's not like it will control your mind it may control your mind someday and this stuff isnt fiction because the illuminati is far too real but you definately need to reavaluate yourself if you think that advertising is subliminal and that it can control you.

I tend to agree with many of the thoughts you present here. i also know you have trouble finding the words to properly represent the thoughts that support what it is you are saying.

I like to keep an open mind but this person has not given me a shred of evidence to back up his claims. No offense but he reminds me of this guy my dad's friend told me about. He always talked about how the government was after him and how someone from the CIA tried to drown him in a swimming pool.

I dont think google possesses the ability to control the thoughts of other people if you like an ad look at it if you dont like it dont the problem is that so many people are looking at ads (like you) and are complaining about them. Now to say that they are brainwashing people is completely paranoia. >__>.

I look at posters like this one and then I laugh at how silly and thoughtless this poster is. Way to go TC.

So I go down look at an ad, and all of a sudden I see a (popup), so that means theoretically gets programmed into my concience and only I have the power to block it out? I'm like wtf mate. O_o. As far as the TC goes you could get a doctor. These always help.

This is so cliche. Obviously you've seen the movie "They Live" once too often.

Yes, adverts work by deconstructing our preconcieved beliefs and then reconstructing them in a more favourable way, but NOT in the way you're talking about. That's just jargon for "using social techniques to get us to like something", the easiest and most obvious way being comedy. If we find an advert funny, there is a statistically shown chance that we are more likely to buy that product. Stuff like that is what's used in adverts, along with sexy/attractive people, sexually alluring scenes, images of prosperity linked to the product, etc. We learn by association and that's how adverts work. Why go to all the trouble, expense, and risk of adding subliminal messages when there are perfectly simple and very effective methods that achieve the exact same thing? All that your paranoia has done is taken something relatively benign and attached a nonexistant and/or unsubstantiated dark motive/method. Adverts and product placements are sickening but they're no conspiracy.

If you want to tell us all not to watch adverts, that's fine, so long as you have some evidence to substantiate your apparent fear. Have you ever discovered subliminal messaging in an advert to the extent that you can show us? Heck I'd even buy into a philosophy on not watching adverts for the sake of being free to make up my own mind on what I buy. Personally I find testimonials and product reviews to have more influence over whether I buy something than an advert does. But you just went off the board with your paranoia.

Not all adverts get it right even, in fact frequently I've had discussions with people about how stupid an advert has been. Hardly the epidemic you speak of.

I can understand the argument that there are a generation of people who have been, in one way or another, programmed by adverts. My girlfriend and her parents are just like that. They gather around the TV, apparently for lack of anything better to do, and fall for every single advert and product placement. They make a lot of decisions based on what TV has told them, IE what products to go and buy, and how to live life. If money wasn't such an issue for them then I swear they'd buy even more of it. In fact they'd probably have a bit more money if TV wasn't telling them that they've GOT TO HAVE this specific product in order to be an acceptable member of society. Also TV presents an unrealistic view of the world, the way society works, and the way one should go about socialising. My girlfriend and I frequently have clashes over "the way things should be" which always end in her realising that her point of view was given to her by television, and wasn't realistic. She has some very steroetypical views of how relationships are, all of which came from TV.

So I partially agree. There is a problem, but your paranoid, delusional rantings are more of a distraction from the real problem, and are giving people like me with genuine objects to advertising and TV a bad name.
