An absentee ballot was mailed to the Duval County Supervisor of Elections, Jacksonville, FL. One of the stamps used was 1 of the 100 upside down
airmail stamps displaying the Curtis Jenny. Somehow one panel of stamps got out of the mint. Its face value is 24 cents, but it was estimated to be
worth $200,000 before it was canceled, now its worth was reduced to $100,000.
The ballot was improperly completed, so it could not be counted. The outside envelope did not contain the notarized signature of the person voting by
mail. The Supervisor’s office will make a very energetic effort to locate the sender, after the first of January, when the post election business
will be completed.
