Follow the yellow brick road, be sure to take short breaks

I'm watching the Wizard of Oz now and had the thought about its' purported alterior political meanings. I remember a couple of the specific analogies but not all of them. I think I remember the yellow brick road representing gold, or the backing of the monetary system with it. The scarecrow representing farmers, tinman-industrialists. Thats about all I can come with at the moment.

I'd like to hear some thoughts on the movie, some other comparisons and whether the proclaimed alterior meaning is actually true, or not.

Hi thanks for the contribution. Those links don't quite do it for me. An interesting twist for sure, perhaps I'll delve into it one day. I'm more interested in the political aspect of it.

Any info or thoughts on that?
