The Secret - A movie

Has anyone heard of this film?

It's called The Secret... kinda vague and suspicious... but it claims that it can provide answers to make your dreams come true.... (haven't I heard that somewhere else before?)

I was wondering if anyone has heard of it or seen it?

I'd buy it, but I worry it's just vague things that I already know, such as 'the answer is inside you' and things such as that.

too good to be true?

I have heard of it. I have yet to hear what this secret is.

I watched it a while back, its annoying to watch all the way through as you get the picture halfway into the movie. Not to spoil it for you but there is nothing really ground breaking in its ideology. Its basic message is the way you pray is vital in how you recieve worldly things which tended to be a little materialistic/satanic to me.

I wonder if all these theories about the mind being able to manifest physical things is just some 'easy' answer to what we can't explain, and because that if all humans have this power, knowing human nature, some would use it for power and money.

However, I do know that when I imagine myself eating a lemon perhaps, my tongue will start to salivate and I will taste a bit of sour in my mouth. This is also proven with placebos, where people believe something is real even if it's not.

I watched it a while ago, it was all to do with the Law Of Attraction basically stating that anything you think of will attract whatever it is you are thinking about and the more you think about that something the more likely it is to occur, so think positively! It also went on to say that for it to work effectively you need to 'align yourself with the universe' in other words, you need to feel as if you already have what your thinking about.

I think theres a google video of the bit they were going to put in at the start but they decided not to put it in which is a shame because that bit was really good.

try this 'performance art'....cup your hands, one over the other in front of you, to make a spherical enclosure of sorts....your action will get quizzical looks, attract attention, etc...

I haven't seen the movie but I think the people behind it were on Larry King a few weeks ago. I'm not a CNN watcher but you might be able to get a transcript of the show at their website.

The Secret seems to be 'same message, different name'. The basic philosophy has been around for eons but when it's given a new name it draws attention to itself. If you check out the self help section at the bookstore, or even religious sections, you will find that the principal is the same but each author tries to find an original way to market an old idea.

No really, after watching, I started to put it to work and lo and behold I found myself suddenly fired from a job I hated for three years, only to move on to a much better place. The reason I was given was I didn't "fit in" even though I was a top performer. I sincerely believe my thoughts influenced my reality in a positive yet discerning way.

Well, I can say that whether you believe in the law of attraction or not, it works for me. I have been doing this for a long time (although when I was younger I wasn't able to fully control/create with it).

Your mind is the most powerful tool you have - what are you attracting or creating with it? Just think about that.

It's not only for worldly things. It's a way for you to get anything you desire. Physical or not. Let's say you desire a better relationship with your relatives or friends. Well you use the law of attraction to do that.

You pay attention to what you don't want about the relationships for enough time to know exactly what you don't want about those relationships. Then based on that you make a decision how you want them to be. You visualize and feel as if such ideal relationships are already happening, and very importantly... you feel grateful that you have such ideal relationships with other people. And you feel grateful for your present situation. After that, you mindset will get you to be motivated to take action to better your relationships, and if the visualization, and gratitude part is done good, the last will most probably be without much effort.

This is one of the most difficult things for most of us to do, because our whole lives we're taught to do things the other way around. We're taught to always focus on the problem.. Well when you keep focusing on the problem and feel bad/guilty/angry/sad about the present situation, that's all you're going to get; more sad/angry/guilty/bad/undesirable situations. It doesn't matter how much action you do to take care of it, it will only get worse. It will only change if you start focusing more on the solutions and start to feel that the solution is not around the corner; it's already there.

It's a little bit ironic though. Because with a webforum like ATS, in which we are constantly focusing on the conspiracies, and other problems in the world, that's all we're going to get. Personally I unconsciously get myself dragged into it at times, wich makes me a hypocrite...

Well I just watched thie movie and wrote a small philisophical article about it
I've read books such as "Conversations with God" (a book I recommend
everyone who ever thinks outside the box to read) and it says the same
thing , that , we are GOD with god creating abilities but we have
lost the skill through lack of practice , so now it's like a big mess...
Now here's the strange part...here's an unsettling idea I have come up
with or great idea depending on your perspective...
With discussions on 2012 and how we perhaps may be evolving now up to
that stage, well this skill of attraction is only going to get
stronger and stronger until it hits a omega point or point were the
being becomes totally capable of creating its experience at will at a
conscious level.
that's what apparently was so special about people like Jesus, he
wasn't the son of god as stated, he had simply mastered this law of
attraction technique so greatly that they could manifest or attract
something instantly which made it seem like magic (his magnet was very
strong to describe it in another way, so strong that it manifested at
the speed of light ...creating what people described as miracles...
ok back on track, you see I believe that at the moment all possible
realities are out there and it's the law of attraction which bring a
particular one to us...we're sort of like a giant Lan game or mmorpg
at the moment we are sharing the universe and our attracting of things
competes with everyone else's like a tug of war...hence he/she who
believes more gets..
this is how world order or secret societies work, they know the secret
of attraction and since no one else is using it to a high level they
basically have no resistance and are creating their reality for
everyone else...hence there playing god in a sense...that's the power
there so scared of losing cause if everyone had the same force of
attraction they would no longer be in control...everyone would get an
individual vote so to speak..
Now here is where there elite controller have got it wrong, they don't
realise what they're trying to control is an illusion
I believe that once a being learns to wield the law of attraction to
their full extent then what happens essentially is that, that person
becomes god but god in their own separated universe...like being
trapped in a permanent lucid dream were you control what your dream
becomes.....
so I think at another time in our future the lan
party or the mmorpg will break down as all beings will become aware of
their creative potential and hence they will drop out from the
collective universe and create their own universe in which they are
god and or have full control of their destiny....
This is the ultimate power, one I think the elite don't realise, when
it's all in your mind as such, there is infinite version of
everything, I can want a house and get it in my reality & someone else
can have the exact same house in there reality...
this unfortunately means that in a sense we are alone with our own
mind when we reach this state , but I think that's what god is , if
god is everything this is simply a game to him also , his own self
creating game that's all in his head.. We will all get to that level
the LAN party/matrix/mmo will cease
It will fall apart forcing everyone to log off and separate into their
own computer single player game ame as such rather than multiplayer,
collective game....
I believe the fact of conflicting created realities will cause this
separation just like how an alternate time line is created if you
theoretically go back and change something
if I have a god type skill of attraction, then can say I'm going to
create a red ball on my hand and so it will be, but in the collective
this wouldn't be possible as no one else chose the red ball so in
order for me to be able to create the red ball, I would have to be in
my own reality....
I sometimes feel that way now , I ask my friends , how can anyone
prove that they are really here and not in my head

I just can't understand why people don't take the time to think about the law of attraction. If you really take some time and think about it it makes a lot of sense!

I believe that an energy, call it a God energy or anything that has a meaning for you personally, maintains and governs everything. Energies has different frequencies which makes it unique.

Let's say that you keep thinking, "I'm never going to meet that special person". In doing so you change your own frequency to that thought\energy. In doing so you attract the exact same energies from the universe and yes, it will manifest.

Well HDR 689 it sound as though you are speaking out of personal experience. And yes my 5cents will make it 10. let's see if it can grow to whatever. Law of attraction does not only work that way with relationships. It works that way with everything all energies. Call it karma if you would like to but if you suround yourself with good energie chances are you would be affected by it and vica versa. There is an Afrikaans saying that goes with that for those who understand Afrikaans may have heard this before and for those who do not..... well a bit of research never hurt anyone. that is after all what you have to do to get a broad spectrum about things. it goes like this, "Meng jou met die semels en die varke eet jou op" So if you can understand the law of attraction you must believe in karma of some sorts... and that is just my in put I would stake my life on it that there are a few other opinions..

'The Secret' is a re-packaging of a work called 'The Master Key' written by a gentleman named Charles F. Haanel back in the early 1900's. 'The Master Key' was originally published as a series of individual lessons that were supplied sorta like a correspondence course. The idea was to 'force' people to concentrate on each aspect of the system one at a time to ensure that each was fully absorbed and understood. Personally, I have no question that it works. I've seen it in my life even before I ever heard of it.

Some people mistakenly assume that it's all just about 'The Law of Attraction'. It's not. Here's something I strongly recommend for anyone wanting to look at 'The Master Key' or 'The Secret'. Get a copy of the movie, 'What the Bleep Do We Know?' (I highly recommend the movie in general but it has particular significance to 'The Master Key'). Watch 'What the Bleep' first. THEN watch 'The Secret' or read 'The Master Key'. Alot of things will suddenly make sense. Even certain precepts taught in The Bible will suddenly cease to be abstract concepts. It's worth it. I promise.

Well if you think about something alot, you'll act on it, thats why it attracts. You want ice cream you drive there and get some simple. As for creating it with your mind, only God can do that.

I just listened to this guy on Stan Montieths radiuo show say that "The Secret" is Kabballah and satanic so take that .
