I just recently completed this game!
I thought it was an awesome game with alot that you can do.
There is alot of talking in it but that helps with if you want to be dark side or light side.

I guess I just want to know if anyone else liked it as much as I did.
Also I never played kotor 1 and wondering what that was all about (how it compares)

Give me your oppinains!!!

Get off of ATS and buy Kotor 1 now!

Probably one of the best RPG's ever made, the second pales in comparison to it. And the second ones brilliant!

It will be the best fiver you ever spent!

The Second one only pales in comparison because the developers were forced by lucasarts to release the game incomplete. Which is why there is no real ending or the final levels.

I only completed it today and was quite disappointed that there was no movie at the end.

Go you go light side or dark side in the first one????

Either, it's cool because if you go Light, it's much harder, but more rewarding.

Which pleases the geek within me.

I done #2 with light side and i'm considering going through it again and being the nastiest creature in the galaxy, one thing though, I really wanted to get the wookie in my party and now i'm guessing you need to be dark side to have him.
You get him or the bounty hunter girl!!!

Man,the first one rocks-not played the second, although my Bro has and he loved it.

Some top characters in the first one-the robot was my fave.

ended up going to the dak side half way through..heheh

Be great if they had multiplayer, but i guess we have star wars galaxies for that.

I like that too. Its so true.

“Is the dark side more powerful?”
"No! Quicker, easier, more seductive." I guess Yoda should add "and hell of a lot more fun it is."

Seriously though, KoToR 1 is so far beyond number 2. Its good when you get to the halfway point and 'realise' certain things. Plus the characters are better, and I prefer Malak as a villain.
Number 2 was good, but it lacked a lot of what made number 1 great (the va va voom). It had great characters, great enemies (Darth Nihilus is my 2nd favourite Sith after Revan), and because you could train your party it was more fun.

I didn't like the fact that when you turn your party to the dark side they still keep the same dialogue strings as if they hadn't and you lose points for doing things they don't like.

But what makes the games so good isn't the story, or the gameplay, or freedom of choice, or the story. Its..............

So is #2 an direct continuation of #1, Do you get to fight in the mandalorain wars???
And are you saying that you get revan or malak in your party???
Are there any others from #2 that you get to be in #1???

As much as I liked swkotor2 it annoyed me that the swoop racing mode was glitchy to say the least, it always registered that I had crashed and not finished the race. I found a patch that said it would sort that problem but it never worked.
At the start of the race I would click the mouse button and my swoop bike would go up in the air and stay there for the race, I could go over all obstacles but as I say it registered that I crashed.
I don't think it was integral to the game though, it just would have been fun to win the money and stuff...

Its not exactly a direct sequel, but if you play number 1 you appreciate the stuff that is going on more.

Malak is the main antagonist in the game. I think he is a wicked villain too. I'm not telling you any more about that because the story is amazing (I prefer the dark side version of it though)

KOTOR I is the only game I can play like 10 times in a row without getting bored. There is just so much that you can do and so many ways you can go. I was disappointed with the second one because they forced it into the market before it was totally complete, so the ending totally sucks, IMO. But it is still a fun ride til about level 24 or so. Wish they would do another one.

I have recently started playing this game it rocks! quality game. thing is Im on the planet Korrivban where you go into a cave but now it just keeps crashing! total gutter think it must be somethin with my disk shame because I was really enjoying it.

well the reviews kotor has been getting are rather good so I suppose ill give it a bash.

So are Revan & Malak main characters in kotor? in kotor 2 I keep thinking they are one of the Sith lords you see in patches throughout the game (okay one of them im pretty sure is Male) or even the old woman continually trying to guess who malak is and who Revan is ?

The first KOTOR is way better then the second one. Bioware is currently working on Bioshock and Mass Effect right now so don't expect a KOTOR 3 anytime soon.

I loved KOTOR I. It has to be one of my favorite games of all time. So far I've played it at least three times, which is a lot for to replay a game. KOTOR 2 wasn't bad but it just wasn't as good as KOTOR 1. I felt that it was indeed incomplete and I felt they could've done a lot more with it. Still it was a good game.

I have never played the second one, but the first one was indeed awesome. I prefer to complete it on the light side, as someone else said, it is far more rewarding.

So the second one is a major let down?

Hell no. Its nowhere near a major letdown. It is still one of the greatest RPG's there is, it just doesn't hold a candle to number one.

For KOTOR 3 I'd like to see Bioware take some tips from Oblivion. Change the combat to actual combat and overhaul the whole alignment thing.
They should make it so if you are evil you are approached by various factions (Sith, others I can't think of) who give you different missions.

Bioware are great developers and no offence but I don't want Obsidian to be in charge of a sequel.

Hopefully we will see some news soon...
