Doogie Howser Comes Out

Just read this article on CNN.

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Neil Patrick Harris is gay and wants to quell any rumors to the contrary.

"(I) am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest," Harris tells People magazine's Web site.

The 33-year-old actor said he was motivated to disclose his sexuality because of recent "speculation and interest in my private life and relationships."

Harris stars on the CBS comedy "How I Met Your Mother." He started on TV as a teen, playing the namesake doctor on the series "Doogie Howser, M.D."

I've watched a few episodes of his new show, How I Met Your Mother, and its not bad. I enjoy it.

I applaud him on his courage to be honest and not hide his sexuality. Being in front of the cameras and the public eye non-stop, this decision could not come to lightly. Unfortunately, scrutiny and ridicule comes with the territory. As a star, not as a gay man. Although I guess in our society, it can be true for both. Stars are expected to fit the norms, and when they don't, they are questioned on it.

Good for Doogie on standing up for himself.

John Travolta (totally frenching that guy)

and Doogie Howser.

Oh, and basically any evangelist who is extremely anti-gay marriage.

Oprah? Not in the next 10 years but I can see it surfacing.

You know the name sounded familiar, but I honestly had no idea
who the guy was, never saw the Doogie Howser show.


It is interesting to see this kind of thing, though at the same time
the public really should be keeping there collective noses out of
peoples personal lives.


I say the following are gay, and will come out, or it will leak in
the future.

-Clay Aiken(sp?)
-Anderson Cooper

Persoanlly I don't think that AC will come out for along time,
if ever, but I can see him being gay.
Does'nt amtter to me, I respect his choice not to talk about
any aspect of his personal life, he's cool.

Thats the truth!

I never would have guessed that Doogie Howser was gay. What's this going to do to the new show he's on. On that show isn't he straight and after all the women? Now it won't be believable. It could mess up the show.

I thought he was married. He's not?

But then again .. some folks get married to cover. A high school friend of mine did that. He's bi-sexual but got married and became a very loud fundamentalist christian because being bi-sexual scared him. His wife has no idea and I'm NOT going to tell her. Last I heard he cruised gay parties ... allegedly just because he's 'curious' about their lifestyle .. what a c*** tease! :shk:
