Seagull you have nailed down perfectly. Investigations will take place that believe it or not will be fair. Judging those soldiers when we weren't there is wrong; after being in a fire fight those soldiers were undoubtedly on high alert. By the by Seattlelaw you are wrong there is a great deal of rebuilding going on in Iraq that isn't reported by the media because it doesn't get attention the way death and destruction does. Look a little deeper before you make those comments.

To anyone who says that insurgents don't dress like firefighters: What is the uniform of the insurgents that insures that innocents aren't accidentally targetted?

This seems like a terrible accident, but I can't really fault the soldiers. From what I understand, they had just been attacked and were on probably pretty scared, they recieved reliable intel that insurgent had taken a firetruck, saw a firetruck coming at them and took what they thought was a reasonable response.

People need to look at things more logically. I have just been reading up on some Psychology recently (On Killing is an excellent book that anyone here would probably enjoy), and I am surprised how much people depend on insignificant details for the morality of events. For example, the massacre in Viet Nam (My Lai? something like that) was considered absolutely abhorent. The thing is, bombing and artillary was causing the same thing on a much larger scale, but nobody cared about that. The only difference was the distance of the killers from their targets.

You people call it murder. But we call it survival. These american soldiers did not execute these fire figthers like the title (from an extremely biased person) indicates.

Cannot be bothered to read any more of her rubbish - Every other article in ATS has a fair view on things...some times heated, but not so biased it becomes rubbish...

I certainly see the attempt to spread propaganda by this. And you only see it aimed against American troops. So I will also resort to ignore this 'Syrian Sister' and mostly because his/her signature offends me.

Its good to hear point of views from all sides. But when one side is unwilling (blindely) to see the fualts of his or hers side it becomes impossible to listen to any more of the propaganda filfth that pours out of these ppls mouths.
