I read this article just today, and I think that the awakening is now spreading to the troops in the battlefields. More and more active-duty soldiers are now saying NO MORE to this illegal, immoral, bloody and costly war. Thank Heaven and the Forces of Light.

Christian Avard Article

For the first time since the U.S. invasion of Iraq, active-duty members of the military are publicly appealing members of Congress to end the U.S. occupation, RAW STORY has learned.

Under the Military Whistleblower Protection Act (DOD directive 7050.6), active-duty military, National Guard, and Reservists can send a protected communication to a member of Congress regarding any subject without reprisal.

Earlier this week, 65 military service members and National Guardsmen sent appeals for redress to members of Congress to urge an immediate withdrawal from Iraq. That total is now up to 346 service men and women, 125 of whom are on active duty

Yeah Bush has really mucked this up, it amazes me how ridiculious some of his decisions have been, for instance he should have never disbanded the Iraqi army that was the biggest American blunder in a long time. Even though i was against going into Iraq even initially i admit i was wrong in supporting this bone head president of ours. I've just lost hope that we can make any good of this situation atleast not without doing a lot of bad first.

Thats a great paper to quote. What was it 5 one week and then seven the next, so they assume more and more soldiers want out.

And I don't think it is an illegal war considering that Saddam broke his peace treaty with the US, that was signed after the Gulf war. And then he broke 16 UN resolutions after that.

And how many laws, both legal and spiritual, have the American forces broken?

Now I m no Christian, hell no, but If i remember correctly, we have 10 simple rules by which to live by, rules that were supposedly the blueprint for the American Constitution (which Bush called "A goddamned piece of paper" Very nice...)

Some of those principles are so basic, I understood them when I was 5 years old.

They go something like this:

- Thou shall not covet thy neighbours goods (like oil and opium)

- Thou shall not bare false witness against thy neighbour (weapons of mass destruction?)

- Thou shall not steal (which coincides with coveting thy neighbours goods)

- Thou shall not KILL (perhaps most important of all)

And we wonder why our world is the cesspool of evil and corruption? Its cuz our leaders, and the rest of the herd, forget basic life principles, and then go and support a satanic leader, and a ritual killing we call the "war on terror".

WAKE UP MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS!

It is "Thou shall not murder", not "Thou shall not kill". A common enough mistake.

Oh, and the commandments also say "But the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God; you shall not do any work—you, or your son or your daughter, or your male or female slave, or your ox or your donkey, or any of your livestock, or the resident alien in your towns, so that your male and female slave may rest as well as you."

Slaves huh? Lucky we have these basic life principles...

I'm actually surprised anyone read those letters to congress. Looks as though the system does work after all, and I hope more soldiers willfollow.
However if the troops really want to go home I think they have a better chance writing to Santa Clause.
Unless they do something to really p*** George Bush of like set fire to some military equipment, do a mutiny, or hippy protest; the chances are that with him in charge they’re hopes are going nowhere. I too wouldn’t want to be joining up for a pointless and very amoral war, but relax (in fact relax a lot) because the best way of leaving the army (at least in the U.K) is to do drugs. You see they have no choice but to throw you out.

Off Topic...
Never mind the bloody Bible; I would like to vote Steve99 Way Above for doing the best job possible to sidetrack a perfectly good topic. Unfortunately I have run out of way above votes.

Steve99 his Excellency Saddam is a cool guy who kept control of Iraq we’re we have failed. Under him (before 1991) Iraq had 92% literacy and 93% access to free healthcare often of first world standard. Didn’t we fail to keep the most important legal agreement: Get rid of your WMD’s and we’ll resume normal relations, and it was who withdrew the U.N team because our bombs were coming.
Most Iraqis have long wanted us out: www.telegraph.co.uk.../news/2005/10/23/wirq23.xml
So will probably to happy to hear the troops feel the same.

That is a VERY BAD thing.

Troops aren't supposed to have doubts, they are supposed to fight and make sure their buddies and themselves get out alive.

If you begin to think and challenge the idea of the war, you WILL DIE. Stay alive till you get out, then challenge the war... but not while your in it.

Thats not really a lot that have come out. So we have a few hundred that don't support it while the other few hundred thousand do. You can't use this article to prove anything except some don't support the war. Thats the case with every war. I'm definately not a supporter of this war but this certainly isn't enough voices to even make a difference.

Well this article proves one thing....more troops are starting to wake up to the complete stupidness of this war....that is a good thing, very good thing. Another good thing is, more and more are waking up by the day....

And in case you didnt know, there are so many troops, so many of them, who DONT support this war, but are forced to fight anyways. They fight to stay alive until their "duty" is over. Most troops, are too scared to say anything or not fight this war, for fear of court marshals, dishonorable discharges, and stupidity from ignorant people who support the president and the war. Ive talked to many troops, some of them are on the battlefields fighting now...and I can assure you, troop morale ALL OVER THE ARMED FORCES is lowering, and opposition to this illegal war is rising. Thank God.

As for the "10 commandments" you wont find the real 10 rules to live by in the BIBLE. Of course not, what was quoted before was not from the Bible. The Bible is one of the main books that distort truth, it was meant to be that way. The Bible has been re-written and translated god knows how many times. And there was a purposeful twistings and distortions of truth to fool people into not following the laws.

Much truth has to be learned from the ignorant masses. Im speaking generally here, but if you feel offended by my remark, so be it. Truth is. You have to tune in with it.

Few things, I'm not sure if you were talking to me or not but I'll assume you were. I'm agnostic so I don't really care what the bible says honestly. Second thing, the troops aren't "scared" to come out against the war because "under the Military Whistleblower Protection Act (DOD directive 7050.6), active-duty military, National Guard, and Reservists can send a protected communication to a member of Congress regarding any subject without reprisal." Even with the recent addition, its not enough. 50 here and there is not a whole lot when you consider the number of troops that have been there. Again though, I'm against this war and I hope we leave by the end of next year, preferably sooner. By the time we've trained their troops and police forces, there will be nothing else to do for them. Its up to the Iraqis to fix their country and stop murdering each other over such petty differences.
