Our immediate family includes 3 ex-Navy (including my mom), 2 ex-Army, 2 current Army, 1 current Marines, 1 current Navy, 1 ex-Air Force and a 2 time recpient of the Bronze Star (Army).

this may seem very disrepectful but i don't like to thank people for continueing the warring tradition of humanity which i am so strongly against, i would rather thank the people who chose to be peaceful, it almost goes against ATS to thank these people as we are denying ignorance and only an ignorant person would want to fight another man because they've been told to

still i shall thank those who may have caused me to remain free

But i think its about thanking people who died for a cause they belived would enable us to live in a free world!

They died for Us! They fought for are freedom
we can only respect that and thank them as people.

War is the enemy, not the ones who fight it!

war is just a way of life that cannot be avoided, its human nature!

that was a lovely verse - very poignant and I'm sure a lot of people will agree.

I only hope that nothing on this scale will ever happen again, although that looks increasingly unlikely given the current events around the world
