Hurricane Katrina Personality in Murder/Suicide

Zachery Bowen came to the attention of the public when he was profiled as one of the resiliant survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Along with his newly acquired girlfriend (who he offered shelter to during the tragedy) Adrianne Hall, Bowen was seen out cleaning the streets and inviting journalists to his place for cigarettes and cocktails, where he claimed, "we're having a civilised hurricane".

This week Bowen made the news yet again as he plunged to his death after leaping from the seventh floor of a luxury hotel in the Quarter.

A suicide note found in his pocket led to a grisly find:

A note found on the body of a suicide jumper led police to a French Quarter apartment where they found a woman's charred head in a pot, her arms and legs in the oven and her torso in the refrigerator, police said.

It would seem that shortly after moving to new digs with Ms. Hall, something snapped in Bowen.

His note, found in his pocket, identified the woman as his girlfriend but did not mention her name.

Ms. Hall was last seen on October 5th by Priestess Miriam of the Voodoo Spiritual Temple and Cultural Center below their apartment.

Such a horrible story.

Adrianne Hall must have thought she had met a wonderful human being in Bowen, only to find out (too late) that he was a raving psychopath.

Or are there more sinister connections?

This crime occurred only a few days after the couple moved into an apartment above an establishment dedicated to the practice of Voudoun.
