Ok so, I know this event took place along time ago but it is real.
At the time I was roughly 5 my mother was pregnent and I had a Nanny. My father took my mother to the hospital because she thought her water had broken, Any way I had to go home with my Nanny. I was sleeping on the floor of their living room with one of their daughters. It was about ten o'clock when I went to bed. (the daughter was out working all day and was asleep as was everyone else in the house but me) Now they have a long glass sliding door in their living room and as I went to sleep I happend to look out the door into their yard. I was ALARMED to see a huge black creature with red eyes staring back at me. Being little I was PETRIFIED but I rationalised that if I didnt move, talk or breath to loudly it would think I was asleep and go away. I squeezed my eyes shut and fell asleep. No one I told in the morning believed me.

At the time I thought the creature to at least be 8 foot but back then I thought the houe I was in was the size of a mansion. I now believe is that it was 6-7 foot. Also it had a human shape to it (not sure if this is the right word but bipedial).

Over time I searched for what it could have been and have found things like
Big Foot, Ghosts and even Mothman. The most rememberable and scary feature was its piercing red eyes.

hi i just read your post and then read another about Chupacabras. I noticed that the only common feature of these creatures is their red eyes as you mentionned. Hope this helps!

Ah... another eye-witness testimony thread... If you have the program "Microsoft Paint"(which you should because it comes pre-installed into every other crappy microsoft bundle pack "o" doom), then can you use it to create a quick sketch of exactly what you saw that night? It would be really helpful, and we can much more easily identify this possible "creature" that you saw.

I can definatley rule out mothman because I live in Australia but i mentioned mothman because it had a similare figure. I will work on a paint sketch and post that today.

The creature might be real, but it's a debatable topic as is.

I have a theory... Im not aying you didn't see anything, because you obviously did. Children who are 5 years old are usually tired by 10. Maybe in the final stages as sleep began to set in, your mind created this figure and projected out, causing you to 'see' a dark figure. This is a fairly logical theory, because I've experienced this exact phenomena. For example, my father died 4 years ago. About a month ago, I was lying in bed (Around 4:30 AM, so I was tired.) and I could've sworn I saw him walking down the stairs. So maybe this is what you experienced?

Well, if it was real, then I have no clue what it could have been. The kid sitting next to me (I'm at school and the kid is reading over my shoulder.) suggested it may have been a spirit of some sort.

Step Wunz) make the picture in microsoft paint.

Step Tooz) save the image as a jpeg

Step Threaz) Go to photobucket.com and make an account

Step Forez) Log in to photobucket

Step Fighvez) You should see a blue bar, click the "browse" button and search for the document which contains your jpeg image

Step Sickz) after you upload the image onto fotobucket, click on the picture to maximize it

Step Zevenz) right click on the image itself, and select properties

Step Atez) Under properties, you should see a tag called "Location", copy ALL the font next to that tag

Step Nighnz) come back to ATS and make a post on this thread.

Step Tenmz) type and then post the damm thing

*IMPORTANT NOTE- do not actually type [img], instead type [img], and that goes for the one with the backwards slash too.

it looks like mothman in my opinion too.

Just because you're in australia, that means it can't be though you say? Are you suggesting Mothman can't migrate?

Judging by your doodle, is it far that I can say you thought it had wings?

I also did a quick search on a few sites for anything like this being seen in Australia before, but I couldn't find anything.

I think I'm leaning towards the 'you were tired' spin on things. Little minds can create some weird stuff under the right circumstances.

Not paranormal, but one time when I was about 4 or 5, I can remember waking up and seeing Elmo (from Sesame Street) in my room, full of glee, I bounded out of bed, going to hug him, and bashed my head against the wall. Of course, he wasn't really there, my dream had kinda 'crossed over'.

Wow, it really does look a lot like the mothman pic. Did it have wings?

It did appear to have wings or large appendages my lesser thought was they were unnaturaly large shoulders. But I think thre wings. And the migrating-mothman thing im not saying its impossible just unlikely.

Let's see...

You were 5 years old, overly tired, after a very traumatic day, and saw 'monsters' in the dark. Classic night terror, straight out of the child development textbooks. My daughter had something similar when she was 6, except it was a giant spider with a man's face on the ceiling. To this day (she's now 24) swears it seemed so real and she remembers it vividly.

You didn't say how old you are now, but it was quite a few years ago, right? You cannot rule out confabulation altering your memory of that night, either.

Dave_54...
I never said i was tired in my thread yet you jumped to the conclusion that i was how very nice of you.
Secondly are you saying that having a little brother is traumatic i think not i was excited so i think you should rethink and not treat as a child.
