Demonic Possession

Hello,
I have recently found myself in a position to gather as much information as possible about demonic possession. Are there any of you that have any first-hand experience with this, or knows someone who has. I am very much interested in the subject and am trying to gather as much information as possible. Anything you could share would be greatly appreciated. It doesn't have to be a personal experience, just anything. I look forward to hearing what this community has to say on this subject.

Hello nyk, I think you'll find ATS has a large amount of data on this subject (and others like it). I would suggest starting out with the ATS Search, then moving on to Google.

I would be happy to share my personal experiences with you, and answer any questions that you may have (to the best of my knowledge anyways). I've been investigating the paranormal for a time now, and I have had experiences with what I feel to be demonic.

Those that are possessed by the demonic don't know they're possessed by the demonic, that's the whole trick. In theory nobody should be able to give you any first hand experiences of themselves being possessed. Unless one has been exorcised of demons, then those that have been possessed are most likely dead or in some mental institution somewhere.

It's about stealing your soul period. One doesn't live a long, fruitful life while being possessed.

On that same note, those who have really witnessed someone being possessed are probably too traumatized and disturbed to talk about it. Good luck in your search.

If you believe in demons, do you believe in the devil? If you believe in the devil, do you believe in God? If you believe in God, do you believe in Jesus? If you believe in Jesus, do you believe in his works and teachings? There's a lot of doors that open up when you start researching this kind of stuff. It kind of depends on your particular theory. Anyone else on?

Yes, I believe in all of that. I understand the implications and possible reasons for demonic possession. I am just interested in finding out if anyone else here has any experiences with it. Or perhaps just knows a great deal on the subject and would like to share.

You can also belief in demons without believing in the devil and god. There are many theologies and mythological pantheons that work with a nether/underworld.

Take the 9 hells from Chinese folklore as excample.

When delving into subjects like this it means there is a massive academic study involved as well. Studying many religions, traditions, myths and folklore. If you starte blind into one direction you won't find a suitable and satisfying answer.

There are even people who invoke and evoke "demons" on a frequent base. So stating that only disturbed, traumatized or dead people can share demonic experiences is incorrect.

If you want REAL demonic posession stories go read/buy "Hostage to the Devil" by Father Malachi Martin. 5 real cases. Can be very wordy, but very interesting!

Hmm.. I'll have to check that out. I know there are several other books and sources in which people have supposedly had first hand experience with possession. I'm still wondering if anyone here on ATS has had any such experience though.

My friend's mom admitted to being followed or bugged (understatement, the word will come to me) by a demon once. It was back in her 20s when she had just moved, was really insecure, and ws anorexic. Apparently she suffered from depression for quite awhile (about a year or so) before she finally contacted her pastor and asked to talk. Walking down the church aisle, she felt really, really scared, like something was going to get her when the pastor showed up. Then she got really freaked out for no (apparent) reason and tried to run out. Then the pastor cast the demon out of her, calling on God to do so.

That is the closest I've come to having a personal experience with demons. . .directly anyway. I'm sure that a couple of anyonymous ones have snuck into my life. That's a Christian POV anyway. Hoped that this helped. One could say that the 'demon' could be perceived as simply stress on top of all the other things going on in her life at the time. In any case, she is now a successful, happy, well-rounded person that I'm proud to know.

Well I'll take whatever information you have to share. I am really interested in hearing any more of your stories.

Lucifer as you know were 1 of 3 Archangels ,with each of them having millions of angels under them so when Lucifer fell all his millions under his command fell with him.In their world its the same as the military they work according "ranks" ,and to say how many there are is impossible as i believe more angels fell after Lucifer and not sure even if they "work" for him,but they are fallen the whole lot which means they are not part of God's Goverment/Kingdom.

Now we dealing with a Spiritual Warfare as Eph 6:12 tells us ..
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

To do an exorcism takes ALOT,so many steps needs to be taken from forgiving ,ask God for forgiveness of sin ,& you forgiving people for whatever reason >>in all whom will be active in the exorcism must do that and ofcourse FAITH ,you cannot buckle for anything which is hard for us humans to do but with help and only help rom/through Jesus ,we have been given authority over all evil/demons or so all that is not of God.Why i say its not easy is cause we do think we are "powerful" enough to take demons on but we have not studied all we must or know all we should.

In exorcisms gone wrong that demon/s can change their "host" and go after the person/s performing the exorcism cause they had an opening (lack of faith,unforgiveness,fear) is an invitation for them.

If we think about it Jesus did not even lay hands on possessed/oppressed people,His voice alone made demons tremble ..cause He just knew/believed & He said if we believe it shall be no matter what it is.But alot of exorcisms that takes place we have family members,plus people who help,and when doing it you start to think if all of them are strong enough ??

The one thing I have been told is to Never speak your fears outloud. because thats when deamon will hear you. and use that against you. That is why I try to never speak my fears outloud, I am convinced that this is the way demons posses people.

I also remember reading (can't remember where) about the Four Giants of the Soul. and the theory goes that the soul is devided in 4 parts: Anger, Hatred, Fear and Love. Love is the only positive influence. Demons have 3 strong influences to play around with to make you miserable and in time take over you.

Never say your fears outloud. Dont give in to anger. and dont make Hate you're only Love

I would say the quickest and most full proof of any demonic posession would be a persons mind.
MOst people cant shut it off...they identify with it and it torments them and others through their actions. So for sure the mind can be a demon of its own, more than most people would be willing to give it credit for.

Beyond that, who really knows...isnt it bad enought people cant be free from their own minds?
Bet they never thought of it as the source of the problem...what better place to hide then as a part of you?
