The Parallelogram,

My prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Having lost both my parents in 2000, my Grampa and oldest brother in 2002, and almost dying myself in a car accident, then from complications of back surgery in between, may I offer you this:

Paraphrase of the Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi for Healing

Gracious, loving, caring God,
Source of all healing and wholeness,
Make us instruments of Your healing.
When we are weak and in pain, help us to rest;
When we are anxious, help us to wait patiently;
When we are fearful, help us to trust in You;
When we are lonely, help us to love;
When we place You apart from us,
help us to know that You are still near.
Healing God, grant us not so much to demand everything
from ourselves, as to allow others to help us;
Grant us not so much to seek escape, as to face ourselves
and to learn the depths of Your love.
For it is in being uncertain and not in control,
that we find true faith;
In knowing the limits of mind and body,
that we find wholeness of spirit;
In passing through death that we find life
that lasts forever.
In the name of Christ Jesus, our Savior,
our Healer, our Lord, we offer ourselves to You.
AMEN.

May the healing power of the Holy Spirit come to us all in our time of need.

So sorry to hear your sad news TP. I know that there's nothing that can be said to make this any easier for you other than to express that we are really all here for you should you need a shoulder to cry on or want someone to lend an ear.
I'm pretty teary eyed reading this thread. I lost my step father in March of this year and my Mum has very recently been diagnosed with a terminal illness. I can understand the sort of emotions that you must be going through at the moment, and am really sincere when I say that if you do need someone to talk to I'm just a U2U away.

I've only just spotted this thread but it seems I am too late to offer my thoughts.

Instead I offer my warmth. I lost my father when I was 10 and can understand the kind of pain you're going through. The cold loss is a terrible thing, and it hurts like a word I can't write here at first, and as time goes it does ease. Though there will be times when it will just hit you and you won't be able to hold back.

Stand tall man. You aren't alone.

Parallelogram. My thoughts, prayers and best wishes go out to you and your family during your time of need.

I have heard that when prayer is offered to people with health problems, they often do better or recover. I sincerely hope that his is true. I will definitely say a little prayer, or two, for you Dad.

Good luck to your father and to the rest of your family.

My prayers are with you. I lost my dad almost 3 years ago, & i still miss him. But that was the plan god had him, so it was time for him to go. Still when I read a post about someone going on my eyes fill with tears. Take care.
