NICKEL MINES, Pa. - Six people were shot to death at a one-room
Amish schoolhouse in Pennsylvania's bucolic Lancaster County Monday,
and at least three young girls were hospitalized in critical condition,
authorities said.

It was the nation's third deadly school shooting in less than a week,
and one of the deadliest in U.S. history.

It wasn't immediately clear if the shooter was among the six. State
Police Cpl. Ralph Striebig said earlier that the shooter was dead,
but he released no details about that person or a possible motive.

Three girls, ages 6-12, were admitted to Lancaster General Hospital
in critical condition with gunshot wounds, spokesman John Lines said.
Officials at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center confirmed
that victims also were being admitted there.

Wow, not even the Amish are safe from this kind of thing.

I'd really like to know what's up with all these school shootings
all the sudden.

What are you talking about???????
Are you serious? If so why?

I fear you are just mocking a very serious event

UGH! Another very sad event. Children these days should be nervous. When will these nut cases understand that this action serves no purpose. I am speechless.

Yes, I don't understand why all of a sudden this kind of thing is becoming so common. Seems like everyday we've had something of this kind in the last couple of weeks. Maybe these are kids that are depressed and suicidal and see these shootings on the news and think it's a good way to go out.

These are tragic events so I won't go into great detail by ranting, raving and shouting conspiracy but I would suspect it is misdirection or a distraction of some sort. Funny how they all seem come around at once. And to boot, one was in Amish community of all places.

I'm speachless....

I have to agree with you shadow watcher, kids these days are scared. I know I was when I was in 8th grade and Columbine happened. I've been more aware of my surroundings since that day, and tragic events like this really hits home.
Even though I'm out of school now, the world is very different, I get jittery when ever I go out in public. These are trying times for us all and we need to stick together as humans should. Another guy who has something against females and takes his own life like a coward after he gets revenge for something that happened 20 years ago. These kids wern't even alive 20 years ago, yet they still suffer. Guilty by association is unjust in most situations if you ask me, especialy this one. I have a few friends who are still in highschool and every one of them has told me they're afraid these days, even more so now because of the recent string of events. My heart has been broken too many times over these past few weeks and I mourn for the loss of people who were full of potential.
Kinda makes one thank, today could be your last day, thats why you should tell your kids, family, significant other that you love them every day. They'll remember that I promise.

I was scared too, but for completely different reasons. My "Peers" took Columbine as an additional excuse to persecute the Nerds and Goths(I was a Nerdy Grunge in Highschool but they didn't know the difference.....at first

I know what you mean, I wore a trench coat my self and still do to this day. The looks I get make me uneasy.

Doing some more searching I found this news story.

"Before turning the gun on himself, Roberts lined the students up against the chalkboard, bound their feet with wire and plastic ties, and shot the 10 girls execution style.

Miller said three females, between the ages six and 13, were fatally wounded. One of the children, Miller said, died in the arms of a trooper.

Seven other females had suffered close-range gunshot wounds and were taken by ambulance and helicopters to area hospitals.

Three girls were flown to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where they underwent surgery. A spokesperson said they received an eight-year-old girl who suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and arms, a 12-year-old girl shot in the arm and leg and a 10-year-old girl, suffering a gunshot wound to the head."

This is just sick and depressing.

Heres the link to the story. cbs3.com...

Gun control crossed my mind. They won't want the masses to start a revolution armed. Anyway this is terible event. It truly shocks me that anyone would act in such a horrible and cowardly way.

I really do think that the NWO is pulling the puppet strings. They are involved with the drugs we take, the food we eat and the water we drink. Not to mention being involved in the illegal drug trade.

They also are fully capable of using hypnosis and mind control on people. The ones who are "on the edge" are most susceptible to becoming slaves of the NWO. I don't put anything past them.

Step back and look at the big picture.

Events like these are the reason that some teachers need to be armed.

Schools/churches, etc are prime targets for these sick people. A target rich environment with no one to confront them with lethal force.

Anyone who takes an innocent life especially a child should be hung. They are sick people. I know this man killed himself. Thank God hes no longer on our streets. Sadly though the messed up ba***** took some beautiful lives with him. He had no right to come in and destroy their lives. Who does he think he is. Hell has him now. I get so mad over people who hurts someone else. Espically if killing is envolved.

There is no conspiracy going on here, its just another example of the sick minded people running around in the world. This is a tragic event, the coward chose a school for 6-13 year olds and he also chose the cowardly way out by ending his own life. I'm guessing he's got mental health issues and seeing school shootings on the news gave him some ideas. That doesn't mean it is the medias fault. I really have nowhere to point the blame in this story, except at the dirt bag who is already dead.

This story is so sad that it is hard to make any comments on it. Why can't people who want to die just jump off a cliff or off themselves in their own house? Why do they need to create such chaos, they don't even get to "see" all the noise they seem to want to generate about themselves.

I'm not saying there is, it's just odd to me that there have been
three school shootings in the last week.

I see it as just a coincidence, it's just weird is all.

I live in central Pa.and there are amish people who live in my community.I have to tell you all you won't find a more polite group of folks anywhere. These people are very kind and hard working. What would drive someone to kill 6 little amish girls is beyond me.They don't bother nobody. The guy who did this had to be VERY mentally ill.
It's a very sad day in central Pa.

Here is a guy who believes these school shootings are a social disease that comes and goes in a predictable pattern. He says that these shootings usually happen in the Late Aug-Oct and Mar-May periods. Just at the beggining and near the end of the school year. Interesting hypothesis.

www.boingboing.net...

On his blog, he predicts copycats to strike this month.

My husband grew up in Amish country, Pennsylvania. He has told me so many wonderful things about them. One of them is that they are completely non-violent. They don't believe in fighting wars, hitting anyone, etc. They do not know violence, like the rest of us do, from living in the mainstream USA. THere's is a very tranquil community and to have this happen in a one-room Amish school room, well it's reprehensible. This has to make huge shock waves within this Amish community. I really hope it doesn't change their beliefs of nonviolence. I hope they don't feel that they have to lock their doors.

My heart goes out to those poor parents and the other family members of these little girls. These are insane times that we live in...
