New Iranian made 122mm MEL

this was made somewhat couple of days ago. its mobile and more tubes have been added including better warheads for the rockets than the previous Fajr-3 and Fajr-5.

Wow, those are some pretty mean looking machines. Does this somewhat make Iran safe from air attacks?

There for ground defense not air. They are basicallly just improved unguided rockets in a multiple launcher system.

Similar to regular stuff out of Russia and China.


To Mehran,

Personally i don't think Iran should be wasting it's money on stuff like this but should cencentrate it's energy on Surface to air missiles, wire guided SACLOS anti-tank missiles, .50 BMG sniper rifles, Night vision equipment, bullet proof vests, helmets, thermal equipment, UAV's and stuff like that having big stuff that has no armour is just a waste of money when it gets hit by enemy missiles.

It should organise itself into a giant advanced special forces group rather then a regular army. They are going to take massive hits from America if they try a head to head ground and air battle. They should make there whole military into a massive hezbollah of half a million troops armed with the most high tech portable missiles and weapons and ground launched missiles and project there fire power with long range ballistic missiles and cruise missiles and send special forces into every surrounding arab country to launch counter attacks against America if it gets attacked. They will cause much more damge this way and will have a better chance of winning.

Don't be fooled by looks, ever seen any video from WWII? Chances are you'll see these things in one of them. They're just small unguided artillery rockets with limited range.

I agree with some of the things you say. although what the new artillery rocket we made certainly isn't like what the americans have. it can still pack a punch and it's meant to replace both Fajr-3, Fajr-5 and with our space program maybe in the future we will see better ones where the rocket can be guided by satelites.

SAMS are also a priority and even though we had some of our own projects I think for a country like Iran the size of our missile forces is good enough, we already make our own I-Hawk sam and upgraded them, re-engineered the SA-3 and added 15km more of range and we make two versions of our own manpads. Sniper rifles are already produced in Iran bro. our own versions of SVD, G-3, AK-47, M-82 have been made, don't forget Khaybar also. Night vision equipment are well within the army and bulletproof vests are quite new to the army so give it time until all troops are equipped with it. Incase you haven't heard, new gen of UAV's are now in the army, we have so many varients of UAV's I can't even name them all.

I'm not sure about having large amount of SF since in most countries regular army does have to be more in quantity than the better trained branch but our troops are in better condition and recieve better knowledge and training. Just look how Iranian training gived hezbollah such an advantage and how our weaponry made more than a better match for the IDF and I really doubt there will be a war between Iran-USA. Most people need to understand that we aren't trying to compete with the Americans. we just want to have the best army in the middle east.

Thanks for clearing that up for me Mehran and West Point. Never the less they still look mean

usually these weapons are usually used in mountain warfares.
