I've noticed a couple of threads using the word "symbology" recently, and was wondering if it sparked thoughts of 'Boondock Saints' with anyone else.

In my opinion, Boondock Saints is one of the best movies ever! The social statements, as well as the entertainment value, it contains are brilliant. Willem Defoe's best role ( yes, even better than the Green Goblin) is in this movie. If you haven't seen it you should, unless you don't watch violent movies.

It's kinda difficult to explain without giving it away or making it sound less than it is. Basically, it's about two Irish brothers who's local neighborhood is being taken over by the Russian mob. The 2 bros. share a dream involving a sermon by their pastor about indifference and wake up knowing that they are meant to bring justice to the injust. Then things just come together. Willem Defoe is the detective in charge of investigating the crime scenes left by the brothers. He is NOT your average detective. One of the brothers is played by "Scud" from Blade II. Let's just say that if you like Tarantino or Guy Ritchie type movies, you'll love this one!

No one else has seen Boondock Saints?!
If that's the case, I recommend this movie as homework for anybody interested in a great flick. I don't know anyone who hasn't been completely impressed by this movie. If I could be a character from a movie (and was a guy) I would be one of these cats!!

Touche, Quicksilver!!
Forgot about that cat in the movie.

I don't know if they should make a sequel. As much as I love the original, I'm afraid that they would screw it up if they made a sequel. The originality of the story and dialogue was part of what made it great. I've been so disappointed by sequels lately, I guess I'm a little wary of them now.

Anyways, do you have a favorite scene or line from the Saints?

It can be downloaded at Kazaa....shhhhhh.
My fave scenes are the jump from the roof with the toilet, the peep show shootout and the shootout between the boys and Billy Connolly.

I got around renting it, and I loved it. Willem Dafoe was great as the gay FBI agent, and the shoot out between Rocko, the brothers and Il Duce was awseome. Just pulling out that 6 sets of guns. I highly recomend this one. Its like Reservoir Dogs only more violent.
