Seeing that this is from January 2005, maybe that explains the bodies that are found almost daily in Iraq with signs of execution or even torture.

Doesn't prove anything to me other than they're finally adapting to their environment. You can't outright fight a guerrilla war because the enemies are civilians and the civilians are enemies. Assassins serve to kill only their target without killing 200 other people alongside them. Personally, I'd rather see these guys running around than 2000 lb bombs being dropped.
