What is an AMERICAN Patriot?

Awesome discussion on this and in some way I have to agree with you all,how odd is that.
My strongest feeling of patriotisim came one day while talking to a man that had moved here from Mexico about 10 years ago. The struggles he has gone thru to be here leagley and how hard he has worked to make things work for his family are a very good story but the best was the true love in his heart for this country to allow him the chance to be an American. I felt a little selfish after hearing him and seeing the true feeling he had and since then I have never taken my freedom for granted.
